So there I was

So there I was, sitting in a gentlemen's club called Scarlett's, sipping my second drink. I was aproached by another girl, a very pretty blonde, but I still wasn't quite ready to take the plunge. A short time after she moved on, the DJ called all the girls to the back, and I saw my first walk-around.

Now, I should explain, for those who may not know, that in this type of club the girls aren't walking around naked. At the time I was there, the dress code was more relaxed, and most of them were in fairly revealing two-piece outfits, but I did learn that at at night during the latter half of the week they are required to wear knee-length or longer one-piece dresses.

A walk around is basically a parade; the girls line up and strut onto the main stage, walk around it and then spread out through the club. Right after the walk-around, friction dances are two-for-one, more on that in a moment, and they pick a customer and ask if they'd like a dance. I was feeling a little more at ease, so when Fallon walked up to me and asked if I'd like a two-for-one I said yes and followed her to the back.

Fallon was not the sort of girl that would have immediately caught my eye. She is gorgeous, don't get me wrong, but as any who have read my writings will know, I do have a preference for large breasts, and hers were quite small. She had a lovely smile though, and as we entered the friction room, I confessed to her that this was my first time in such a place. She showed me where to sit and how, and explained to me what was and wasn't allowed as far as contact. I was rather surprised at the latitude allowed - she said basically anything was fine, just no touching under or on her thong.

The next song started, and Fallon began to dance. I'd been watching the other girls on stage of course, but I hadn't seen her up there yet, and I immediately thought that she was a good deal more talented than many of the others. Don't get me wrong, all the girls were beautiful and graceful, but there was just a little something extra with Fallon.

I'm not going to get into intimate details. It was very erotic and very enjoyable. I was more than a bit tentative at first about touching her, and when finally did I made an effort to be very gentle. At one point I was touching her breasts, very gently, and she reached up and grabbed my hands, pressing them against her more forcefully, so I followed her lead.

After my two dances were finished I paid for them - dancers are independent contractors, not employees of the club. In fact, they actually pay the club a house fee, plus they 'tip out' security, makeup artists and the DJs, with the DJs getting the biggest tip. One a busy night, Fallon told me she might pay a hundred dollars or slightly more to work. Of course as independent contractors the girls have no health benefits either, which I'm sure is a big concern for someone like Fallon especially - a twenty-four year old, single mother of two.

We went back into the main club to find the club was filling up and someone was sitting where I had been previously. That was okay, as there was a nice comfy couch right behind there, next to one of the small satellite stages. A waitress came over and I ordered another drink for myself and a glass of wine for Fallon. Then we just sat there and talked. I asked a lot of questions, I was doing research remember, and she seemed quite happy to answer them all. I did tell her she didn't have to sit there and talk to me, to which she replied that she liked talking to me.

I know what you're thinking - I saw the previews for that movie to. "I bet you think strippers like you too." Fallon and I even joked about that quote. No, I don't have any illusions, honest, but I do think she did like me as pleasant company. Oh I'm certain she probably had an idea that she could get more money if she kept me company, but what the hell, I was planning on spending more money anyway, so I was quite happy to spend it on her.

Yes I did spend a lot of money, but I had planned it that way. At one point, Fallon had to leave for a bit, and as soon as she was gone another girl sat down next to me and asked if I was interested in a dance. She was tall and blonde and had very nice, round breasts, and so I said yes and we went back to a room where I experienced another first - I had never before touched a woman with implants. Yes, I could tell, and it didn't detract from the experience in my opinion.

Fallon was waiting when I got back to my seat, and we chatted some more then she left again for just a minute. When she came back, she told me, "I was a little pissed when I saw that other girl come over here so I had a talk with her."

Well, I felt really, really bad right then and I apologized. Fallon gave me a little hug and said, "Oh no, sweetie, you didn't do anything wrong, and I mean it's not like I'm saying you're mine or anything. She does that all the time though, and I had to tell her if I'm sitting with a guy and have to get up, she better wait at least ten minutes or so before she runs over and grabs him."

I still felt a little bad, and there was something else I was curious about, so I told Fallon I was interested in checking out a champagne room with her. It was time for another walk-around, so she told me she'd do that and then get make the arrangements.

More on that in the next installment...

Scott, you naughty boy!

The first time (and one of the few times) I went to a strip club it was with a group of people I worked with. We'd been to a corporate shin-dig and I was the designated driver. They all wanted to go so we did. I was going to wait in the van until I saw the neighborhood this place was located in, and my pleas to skip it fell on deaf ears. Well, actually more like mocking ears, with several comments about "learning a new trade". (This was a long time ago, and what would now be considered sexual harassment was in those days just the 'boys having fun'.)

We got inside, and it wasn't nearly as nice as the place you visited. And I was the only woman there not 'working', everybody else were men. To make things even worse, when I asked for a non-alcoholic drink, the waitress loudly called out, "Hey, we got a virgin here!" After that the working girls all zeroed in on me; I think they thought my reactions were funny, as well as being egged on by many of the men who were happy to tip well when one would 'get in my face'. MEN!

Sounds as if you had a better time then I did, Scott.

I guess I am

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Like I said, I did do some research because I wanted to have a good experience. Fallon also told me the type of crowd attracted depends a lot on the style of music played. Scarlett's plays techno-dance stuff, which tends to draw a less rowdy crowd. The places that play hip-hop can get really wild because they attract a younger, more 'ghetto' crowd, as Fallon said it.

And just so no one gets the idea she was racist, Fallon is of African-American descent. (Not that I thought you would, Karen, just wanted to forestall any thoughts along those lines.) She did tell me about a horrifying experience she had in another club, which I'll get into in a future blog entry.

I did have a wonderful time. None of the girls were pushy or 'in my face'. I noticed several other guys that simply sat there and watched the stage, and if a girl approached them they'd just decline her invitation and she moved on. For my part, I would have never gone if I had no intention of getting any 'personal attention' and I had budgeted for it. I think your companions were rather rude to drag you there when you weren't interested, and I agree whole-heartedly with your MEN!

From what I've read, the strip club scene has changed a lot in the last decade or so. That's not to say there aren't still seedy dives out there, I certainly have driven past plenty that would qualify. It's my understanding they don't have the most attractive ladies either - the pretty girls all want to work at a nice place, and I can hardly fault them for that. The nice clubs also want a certain caliber of girl - certainly looks play a major role, but so does personality. It's really all about salesmanship I guess - someone who goes to a nice club isn't going to buy a dance from a girl that acts like she's doing him, or her, a favor.

Like I said, I had a wonderful time, though at first I had that adolescent fear that I was going to get caught being 'naughty'. There are plenty of people from my past that would be shocked I went to Scarlett's, but then they'd also be shocked to find out I've dreamed of being a girl since I was very young. In my next installment, maybe I'll go into the talk Fallon and I had about that. It was very ... enticing.

I wouldn't be surprised

if Fallon actually did enjoy your company that night. You weren't a boorish grabby drunk, and didn't go in there with that "hey they're all slutto trash anyway" attitude; Respect tends to breed respect. And the half dozen strippers I've known have tended to be gregarious, fun gals, real PEOPLE-people, and in general great conversationalists. But then I knew those women as friends and neighbors, so maybe I had other GROUCHY strippers living near me that I never met. (Once two of them did this outrageously nasty lesbian dance routine for me and asked me why I was laughing. I said the total irony of it, that all up and down the block there were guys who would give anything to be sitting where I was, and their routine was wasted on me, other than I was glad they were having fun. And my reaction or lack of one even surprised me!). I almost said here that I never went into a strip club but I just recalled that's not true. I was 18 and drunk and in Ti Juana and wandered down the dingy steps into some subterranean hell hole, watching the antics on the tiny stage for about 90 seconds before making a break for the daylight. It seemed like the kind of place that would spike your beer with chloral hydrate and you'd wake up Shanghai'd to Hong Kong on a Liberian garbage scow...
