Given the choices, I'd have to vote for her.

Depends on the scope

Frank's picture

It's not a person of the year in terms of GOOD or BAD, its impact on the world (Hitler won it)...

I'd have to say Putin for destabilizing the world. I'd pick Black Lives Matter if it is just more of a US focus.

Whelll....

I'm not a fun of anyone in Russian government, but one particular Nobel Peace prize winner still leading in number of the wars started per year in the whole recorded history...
(And Putin had no Nobel prizes...)

I think

I'd have to abstain or vote for Merkel for Germany taking in close to a million refugees under her leadership. Puts everyone else shame, especially the wannabe president with a hairdresser who has a sense of humour.

You Got It Right

She was named the person of the year.

Further, I couldn't be more ashamed of the statements made by "the Donald." They in no way reflect the majority opinion of the people in the United States. Are we fearful? Certainly. Do we believe people should be screened at our borders? Of course. Do we believe religion should be a criteria for entrance? Absolutely NOT.

Bigotry is ugly no matter how many people comb, or don't comb, your hair.

Pass

No thanks, I'd voted for BlackLivesMatter because they are the only positive force on there I recognized.

I know who I am, I am me, and I like me ^^
Transgender, Gamer, Little, Princess, Therian and proud :D

As a Comment Above Indicated...

"... in a positive way" isn't a consideration here. It's the person or entity that had the greatest impact during 2015.

Caitlyn would be a bad choice for another reason

The fact she does NOT win would be a good thing. Why? Being trans should become a mainstream thing, so for her to be selected would mean she is breaking some new ground or something, which she isn't. To think that she is breaking new ground means that we as a community has not made as much progress as we hope we've had.
