Missing stories

erin's picture

OES removed her stories on May 29, 2015 without notice to anyone here. According to some things we heard from other readers, she was unhappy with how she was treated here. We are at a loss, not remembering any beefs with her at all and none of us can find any communications from her. It's a mystery. I will unpub the story stubs.

Hugs,
Erin

OES an exceptional writer

No, she did not get a good reception here; even worse than my own and she writes much better than I do. She never voiced anything to me, but I do understand. I hope that her and I will cross paths again.

Sorry

I dispute that she did not get a good reception here. I've read many of the comments on her stories and almost all of them were laudatory. I've gotten much worse comments on some of my own stories.

And the complaint I received, second-hand, was that the admins here had treated her shabbily. Far as I know, none of the admins had anything directly to do with her. I don't remember any complaints from her nor can I find a record of any.

The one thing we remember is unsticking some of her chapters off the front page when she posted new chapters of the same story, sometimes in the same day. We do that to everyone, in order to make more room for more authors and more stories to appear on the front page. But none of us remember any direct complaints from her.

Hugs,
Erin

Cricket?

I have vague memories of someone grumbling that they were unfamiliar with cricket. Were those about one of her stories perhaps?

I do not fault the staff

I will say that some readers aren't that nice. Somehow I haven't had many negative comments public or by PM.

I think that she was rather pointedly ignored though. I saw that in the reader counts, kudos, and lack of comments. I just don't know how to make it different though.

Again

She had more comments and kudos than some authors, more than many of my stories get, and the complaints from her that reached us after she deleted her stories were about site admins. We're still baffled by that.

And I have yet to find a single negative comment on one of her stories. A few have professed ignorance of cricket but enjoyment of the stories, and that's about it.

I never read her stories

as i work quite a lot and do other things now than just read for entertainment, and honestly while i do kudo most stories, i rarely comment. i wish i had the talent the people here have for writing, but i dont, but am a consummate reader, been one all my life (when your sick a lot like i was as a kid, no video games, little tv so reading was the best escape), but i feel unqualified to "judge" a story, or even just make comments. if she was newish, had no real complaints other than she couldnt have ALL her chapters listed, not enough kudo's and comments, sorry but that isnt kosher to me, the most talented person in the world is a poor person with that kind of attitude, in my opinion. very few new authors ANYWHERE get meteoric response. they might look new to some, but they have been writing for some time to that skilled, generally, or they have a pseudonym etc.

As Erin has said, she had no real complaints, no bad reviews (unless they were PM's maybe) and other than her wanting all of her chapters showing instead of the rules used for everyone, one chapter of a story showing, the most current. you can always go back to the last chapter read by the links on the side, etc.

just my opinion, for what its worth
