The novel writing contest ended during that time my mom was in the hospital and I had no spare attention. Twice since then, I've sat down and constructed the polls needed for people to vote on the contest and twice Murphy ate my breakfast. It's been six months, the novel contest is over. Everybody that entered won. Sorry, I just don't have the steam; that locomotive left the station empty.

In order to move on with other projects that need doing and haven't been kicked under the couch, I'm just going to declare everyone a winner. If you entered the contest, you may post your acceptance speech here. It was a no money contest, so I'm trying not to feel too bad about it.

And in a large sense, everyone won. We got some very good stories out of it and if the contest provided some extra motivation, well it must have been worth it.

Hugs and apologies to all,
Erin

A push

Sometimes we all need a push to get us to exceed our limitations. I know that my entry certainly did it for me! It was tough writing something so long and much more involved than a short story. On the other hand I think I learned a lot. Thanks Erin.

All in all we got some great stories out the contest! Like John said, "We're number 1"

Second Place

I propose that those of us who did not enter consider ourselves to have finished in second place.

Second's not so bad

Great! I just lost a contest that I didn't even enter!

Could I borrow an eraser from someone so that I can get
this "L" off my forehead, please...

Sarah Lynn

Loser--a negative comment?

Sarah Lynn, you surprise me.

If no-one really won--which is the same as no-one who entered lost, then how could you have lost?

This negativity is a very poor show indeed. You don't see me bleating on about negativity do you?

So from one non-winner to another, have a great day

I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.

I agree with Nick ...

Terrible negativity.

You are not a looser, Sarah Lnn, mearly one of the adward-deficiant.

Nick, Non-winner borders on negativity too. As to the sugestion that all non entrants get a second place, ask your self, 'what would Vince Lombardi say?' Mind you that most famous quote, 'Winning is everything' is taken out of context.

John in Wauwatosa

P.S.I won I won I won! Okay, Erin, I meant 'We won we won!'

John in Wauwatosa

Huh!

POUT!

A nice solution

I like the challenge of writing a story to meet a deadline and qualify for a contest more than the fifth place title I would have gotten, anyway.

My acceptance speech: I'd like to thank all the readers who read my story and voted for it or tossed me a comment. I promise that I will return to those characters some time after my current serials are finished, but probably not right away.

At last the Dodo said, ....

.... `everybody has won, and all must have prizes.'

I do so wish I had entered. I have always wanted to win a caucus race. Ever since I was about .... well .... so high. When I first read Alice in Wonderland. Or perhaps it was read to me. I forget now. But I do know I always wanted to win it.

And now perhaps I never shall. Perhaps that was my last chance.

It doesn't bear thinking about.

Couldn't you make it an annual event? Please dear, kind Alice .... Erin, I mean. Please.

Hugs,

Flip Side

Everyone is a winner.......Everyone is a loser.

Einstein described insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting the result to change. Was Albert a reader of TG fiction then?

Doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting the result to change...
Hummmm...

Sounds to me more like he was a WRITER of TG Fiction!

It's debatable. Maybe Einstein was a reader and found all the endings to TG fiction alike.

As for Sigmund Freud, who knew he was a crossdresser?
