I have the distinct pleasure of announcing that, as of now, Poetheather is an official canon Bikini Beach author.
Normally, I accept stuff for canon status on a story-by-story basis, and I'm rather picky. Only three authors were canon prior to today - me, Ellie Dauber, and LightofFury. Poetheather now joins that group. If she writes a BB story, or her stories touch on BB, it's canon.
Please, give her a warm hand for her contribution, and hopefully future contributions, to my humble little story-verse.

Congratulations!
Congratulations to Poetheather! May she live long and write for Bikini Beach.
Wasn't Radioactive Loner also a canon author at one point? I seem to recall that name as one of the reviewers.

Radioactive Loner
Yeah, he was a 'custodian' of Bikini Beach while I dealt with some issues. He dropped off the face of the earth kind of. His tales are canon, but I haven't heard from him in so long.
Difference - an author being canon means I trust them enough to not review their work for being canon.
a story being canon means that I've reviewed it and am satisfied that it fits the universe satisfactorily.

My sentiments exactly
It was fun to work with Light of Fury on Bikini Beach tales - I'd no sooner get one reviewed than she was looking for more ideas. She took several rough story ideas (one- or two-liner descriptions) and turned them into good stories. Her originals were fun to read and well-written.
Unfortunately, she's moved on, at least for now. It's not my place to say any more than that.

I was going to comment...
... on one of Light of Fury's Bikini Beach stories, "News Hound". I read it some time back, and (more recently, when I had reason to think in detail about how BB worked) I'd thought of an interesting technical aspect for something at the story's opening. Unfortunately, I couldn't find it at either here or at FM. Oh, well.
