Last night I had the same issue with Firefox on Android 4.2.2

... that you're both using android 4.4.2
Any chance you could post a screenshot so everyone could see what you are seeing?

Screen Dimensions
Actually it's a new "feature" that seems to be in all webkit/blink based browsers. It likes to "chop" multi-column views into lesser columns.When it does this, it doesn't do agood job. To fix this I would need the "screen dimensions" of your phones. (eg 800x600 or 1280x720 or whatever it is). -Piper

Rhona, you are still getting
Rhona, you are still getting the purple background? And do you see a 2 column or 3 column view now? Our iPad tests were fixed at last check.
2 column purple
I have an iPad Air 2 as well. It show two columns and purple, unless I use a trick to request desktop mode. In that case it shows normal.
