So... because I really want to be able to make it to Pennsylvania for my surgery I started this. It is similar to GoFundMe and allows me to take any donations people want to share. If you want, please donate. If you don't, that's okay, I'll still like you, though maybe not as much. ;)
Also, I am nearly done with the story for Interlude. It's a pretty fun love story that is in the lower 10k range. Like I said before, if Interlude passes on the story I am totally posting it here. I would love you guys to see it but if I can get paid for publication I am going to have to go with that. I mean, who wouldn't?
Other than that... I am tinkering with another Harry Potter story as a stress relief while I am still working on getting an Agent and selling my book. That has still been very frustrating and it sadly continues. I just got an offer to have someone Beta Edit it for me, looking for grammatical issues and anything that might be seriously wrong. That would certainly help me in the submission game as those kind of errors are huge red flags.
The thing they don't ever tell you in writing classes is just how stressful and irritating the whole looking for an Agent is. It is making me a touch crazy, which I am not a fan of. I have one set of short stories off to someone to see if they get into an anthology. Then Interlude Press which I am hoping to happen. That would give me publication credits beyond a few articles in a gaming magazine. I am giving my all to this but it is not something that I have been trained in, the self sales part. Blech!
One of these days I am going to get professionally published, just you see. And then comes the dancing!

You really don't need an agent
You really don't need an agent to take on your book to find a publisher. You can use a small independent publisher, like eXtasy Books or Storm Moon Press. I got my start with eXtasy Books without an agent. You might look at Storm Moon Press Storm Moon Press as "Storm Moon Press is a small press specializing in erotic fiction with an emphasis on romance involving QUILTBAG (Queer/Questioning, Intersexed, Lesbian, Trans*, Bisexual, Asexual, Gay) and alternative lifestyle characters and themes." (Taken from SMP's submissions page.)
If you really want to go it alone, you could try self-publishing via SMASHWORDS, Amazon or any of a number of other self-publishing houses.
