Tanya...
While I pretty well live in french for the day to day commerce, but I have found that writing same is beyond me. It is very different to english - much more flowery. It also takes about 20 to 30 percent more space. I used to supervise translations from American to Canadian & then over saw the rewriting in french to exactly express the same thoughts in french. I then rewrote the english to make it the same as the french. We had about a 90% bilingual workforce so any difference between the languages would be exploited to someones advantage which we managed to avoid. The process for a rather simple document could take up to 6 months to conclude as we all only worked on the translations aside from our regular work load.
You may be able to find someone in the TGTS community that would rewrite your work in french if they did not have to translate but you would have to accept that your original intent might be somewhat changed. You might try advertising through the Conseil.
Good luck & if I can help further, let me know.

Any and all avenues are welcome, so thank you for this one. My French is adequate for daily conversation, but not nearly good enough to translate an entire document. I have had some help, but need someone to cast a beady-eye over what is there and compare it to the original English to see if the translation fits. The problem comes when you realise that English has twice the number of words than French, so often one has to use several words in French when just one will do in English. For example, in English we have the word HOME. In French we can use Chez Nous, or Chez moi or even a la maison.. at the house, but there is not a word to correspond to HOME.
I have had several enquiries from French speakers in Canada and France wondering when I will translate my books(and yes, I have even asked them if they'd be willing to help, and no, they are not)
Still, the search goes on....

Tanslate in french
Beter late than never :-) It's a while I'm reading here in english and it's a pitty there isn't more french language stories. If you are ready to write in my langage (french of course) I'd like to help you to correct it in the best syntax I can
Il y a un potentiel intéréssant pour ces histoires car 4 pays européens parlent le français , à savoir: la France (évidemment), la Belgique, la Suisse ainsi que le Luxembourg; ces 3 derniers ont plusieurs autres langues officielles.
For my own part I'm fluent in 4 European languages
