From what I understand
about the way to safely handle archons, the trick is to embrace something directly opposed to the archon in question. Calvin and Amber both had to have massive charitable donations in their name in order to safely handle Visnau, so maybe Amber needs to do some really selfish things in order to safely handle Teijurzi. It's better than Wu Lok, who would by this logic only be safely handled by somebody who was spreading misery. Or sanity, I suppose.

You're both right. Embracing the opposite emotion to harness an archon's power is paying the karmic price. Even though she's a selfless person, Amber can harness Teijurzi because she gave into her lust so so much at the Calvin house.
But holding an archon's mana makes you feel it's primary emotion too. Amber will have be careful about giving too much of herself if she continues to use Teijurzi.
But about Wu Lok's madness, that has nothing to do with his archon power. He's just insane! XD
