I read through the article,

I read through the article, and I have one question.

Was there really a need to use the term 'Texas'? It assumes that there's something special about bigotry in Texas that's somehow different from, say, Alabama.

I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

Unfortunately, It's Everywhere

There is a concentration in the bible belt and the middle of the US; however, where conservative groups continue to devise new strategies to reduce the rights of people that aren't just like them.

A search on Huff Post on Texas bigotry does provide a number of links to what is up across the US.

It still doesn't explain why

It still doesn't explain why 'Texas bigotry' is better or worse than any others. It shouldn't even have been mentioned, as it wasn't in the article.

In case you can't tell, I _live_ in Texas. I've never noticed it being that much more or less bigoted than any other place.

I will explain again.

Here is my original post:

"I looked at the Huffpost entry re Texas bigotry, and found this. Pardon me while I weep happy tears"

Translation: I looked at the article in the Huffington Post about bigotry in Texas, specifically about the Republican Party's approach to LGBT issues and discrimination being proposed. I read an article--not this one--about bigotry. It was in the Huffington Post. It was specifically about Texas.

While looking at the article about bigotry, in the Huffington Post, which was entirely about bigotry in Texas and not in any other state or country, because it was about electoral politics and bigotry IN TEXAS, I saw the link to this article. Which is NOT about Texas, but was linked to from an article about bigotry that was entirely about Texas.

I have previously linked to articles about discrimination and bigotry in the UK, where I have spoken about the UK and its bigotry. The UK is where I live, and when writing about UK bigotry, I have not mentioned Texas.

That clearer?

I Live in Texas Too.....

....In the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. It's much worse in Texas (tolerance, diversity, equality, women's rights) than say; the SF Bay Area or the cities in the Pacific Northwest. I'm sure there are plenty of other places that are better than Texas. The areas I cited are just ones that I have first hand experience with.

Texas?

I saw no mention of Texas in the blog/column/article.

I went outside once. The graphics weren' that great.

There was another article

That was about Texas changing the law to remove all protection from LGBT people and to push 'gay cures' instead. I was reading that, and came across this one by chance.

Republican Party Platform

I think the articles you were looking at were covering the Texas Republican Party platform (Tea Party/religious right/anti choice/etc wish list) which is in the process of being updated. Rick Perry, the governor, is stirring up the faithful. Rick is very special.

Yes, but unfortunately, they

Yes, but unfortunately, they won't make him wear his helmet.
