It has gotten better.

There is, however a long way to go. I "knew" when I was 4 years old. Now at 67 years old, I wonder if it was worth the cost? There is a vain hope that eventually, my conservative, fundamentalist Christian family will get it. Hah, bloody hah!

We can only hope that soon there will be little hate associated with this, and eventually deciding on your gender will be as casual as deciding on a Major at College. And, with the recent developments in surgical implantation of wombs ... I wonder if they will ever get penis implantation right? They could do, you know. :) and they might work better than one could dream of.

We have come far

The whole gay tolerance thing will help a bit with TS dating for example I suspect. There will be hopefully less of 'ewwww' I am with a man, or worst that I had just kissed one, 'the horror the horror' and then the anger.

Ultimately the younger set who transition young and grow up to be normal men/women without a lot of the 'passing' baggage and their willingness to be 'out' will help pave and widen the coarse road pioneering T men/women had managed to lay down.

The next 30 years will tell the tale I think as another generation of less tolerant folks disappear though I have to grant that some of those older folks one would have expected to be less tolerant will surprise you.

I hope to be proven wrong that it will take that long. The problem is that there has always been a comparatively small number of us.
