We have had a series of power cuts here, which after working a twelve hour day did little for my temper. It also caused the computer to go down three times. I am therefore not risking anything tonight. I hope to restore normal Bike service tomorrow. (This is what happens when you sell off all the utilities to foreign companies - idiot politicians, shoot the lot of them).

of our MP's are lawyers of some description or another.
I've never yet met a lawyer who could anything constructive or practical. They only feed (exceptionally well) off other's misfortune and misery.
Thus by definition, a lawyer is incapable of generating wealth that can be added philanthropically to the common weald.
We'll see more of the black-outs in the coming years as the energy requirements of this overcrowded island are progressively ill-met.
We are an island surrounded by huge tides but nobody has yet moved a finger to harness this vast resource (And I'm not talking about piddling little enterprises like the Severn barrage.)

Unfortunately, they've been working on tidal generators since the late 70's, at least, but they're still not terribly efficient.
Nuclear reactors, with all their issues, are still the most efficient form of power we have (as long as you keep the "no nuke" people away from the regulations! - that drives the cost up enormously)
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
