Solari over on the FM hyperboard posted a link to a site called TStories (http://www.tstories.com/index.php) that is hosting works from a lot of authors here. After a quick scan I found stories by Julie O, Morpheus, Angela Rasch, and many others, including myself. I know I didn't give them permission to post the stories and I'm sure none of the others did either.
This is not the kind of site that I want my work associated with, and I'm certain others will feel the same way when they investigate it. I've already sent a message to the site admin and asked that my stuff be removed - we'll have to wait and see if it has any affect.

Ewwww
I did a quick search, and none of mine are there (thank goodness!). That kind of site makes me ill.
It is not just story titles.
That suggested Google search works very well
It was suggest to use
("story name" site:http://www.tstories.com)
Actually
("Search Object" site:http://www.tstories.com)
works, and "search object" can be an author's name, story title, OR even just some text from the story, in other words, anything. shalimar ands I even found a couple that linked to her because she posted a comment about the story on FM. So anything on FM was 'unfair game". It also found several stories by the names of characters in the story."
I found several stories by authors I work with on another site, while looking for a story posted by one of my Top Shelf authors ONLY on Top Shelf, because the title was in the text of the story by the other author.
But all of the stories I found were posted on FM, or FM & Top Shelf, but none on Top Shelf alone.
HUGs to ALL

eww is right
that site is gross for what they show
Yep and I can do without the porn
Agreed. My stories are there, at least a half dozen. I'm going to message the person who posted them and ask they be removed. Let's see what happens.

Thanks Scott! None of my stuff is there, but trust me this not a place I want my stuff posted. Excuse me I have to wash my eyeballs now!!! Ewwww!

Im Guilty of
Pirating authors here from other sites, but as far as posting works from authors, I always obtain voice or written permission before anything gets posted here if its not by the author themselves. We at BigCloset do respect authors, their works and enforce compliance when mishaps are brought to our attention. Fortunately, with the quality of people here, there are very few mishaps that do occur. I would like to think that our brand of community here at our site is a cut above the Rest.

Awwww
Awwww, that's so cuuuuuute! They got their little peepees sticking out-
HEY WAIT A MINUTE! THEY GOT MY STORIES!
THOSE BASTARDS! THAT'S NOT FUNNY AT ALL!!
Looks like they just scooped everything up from Fictionmania without bothering to read it
(I know because they used the FM drafts of mine), filling categories til they got 250 in each.
They've got my Simpsons story under "bad-boy-to-good-girl", Life During Wartime under "shemale",
and fairly appropriate but probably by accident, my first two chapters of Humor Me in "stuck".
(They got my George-Bush-in-a-tutu story I posted as The Gimp, they kin have that...)
They've got essay pieces by Shalimar, Penn Station by Heather Rose. Sick, sick, sick!
So those charming pictures represent advertisers? And they're doing this for profit?
Not cool at all!

Not only not cool
But highly illegal. Intellectual Property laws makes what they're doing... worth fines and jailtime.
No fines in the US except...
...if a story is registered with the copyright office. Only registered stories are entitled to have fines levied in their defense. Unregistered stories are still copyrighted but are only entitled to damages and it's hard to prove damages in such cases. Copyright law is part of the civil code, not criminal, so no jail time in the US.

As Manager for this Site
I have contacted their webmaster for the immediate checking of their archives and ensure they have proper author permission for posting from each author. If they fail to satisfy us that all of authors, those who belong and post on BigCloset, who have not given them permission to post theirs works and have not removed the said stories and name listing of the authors from their site, myself and Erin will consider possible legal action to enforce compliance.
BigCloset TopShelf
Actually
There's very little I can do because I am not a legal representative of the authors here; posting your stories here grants me only the right to display your stories for as long as you're willing to let me display them -- that's it. I specifically do not ask for any further rights except for Hatbox and Doppler Press stories. I don't see any of those up there.
Only one of my stories is up there, under a name I no longer use. I'll have to find my old email addy and email them to take it down but if they don't, once again, there's little I can do. Complaining to an ISP is not very effective, I know. I used to run an online group that wrote nasty letters to ISPs for authors in this situation. The success rate was low but not zero.
They also have numerous pages of comics posted. Time-Warner owns the copyrights and trademarks on most of the characters, I don't know what might happen if someone brought T-W's attention to the site.
Hugs and sympathy,
Erin

I checked mine
I checked mine, but didn't come up with anything after they had a "we'll be deleting those we don't have authortization" note on the website and didn't find any. If there is any of mine there I will be glad to join any lawsuit including a class action.
shalimar
Note: I was responsible for alerting the task forse who quickly elinated of one story at Fictionmania because of vagrant plagerism.
Rechecked
I rechecked and found that I had a few also under my google is one from Maggy O Malley and two by Jackie Windsor.
As far as I'm concerned LAW SUIT!
Damn. Now I need to take a bath, scrub out the tub then take a shower. And I thought I would get to sleep early tonight.
They didn't get me.
At least I don't think they did.
Had some trouble searching, but I think I'm clear, probably by
virtue of only really posting here.
Did anyone else see the notation that all times are GMT -7? The
feeds seem to be smaller asians, but the server may be on mountain
time.
Very funny Laika. At least you didn't find any of your video's.
Or video's of you in the shower. That would be shocker, even
though I'm sure you are quite lovely.
Sarah Lynn
Not from here
From what Laika said, they likely didn't mine BCTS for the stories, but another site -- but that doesn't make it right.
A quick way to do a semi
A quick way to do a semi decent search with out wadding through there forum system or signing up (didn't see any internal search functions for guest use at least , but could have just missed it) is to use google. use this search string in google
("story name" site:http://www.tstories.com)
like other have noted they seem to have done a simple category grab of FM , although they seemed to have avoid magic and a few other tags for some reason
search
upper right, guest use search. that's how I searched
I've sent them a very stern request
to remove all my work. It's all I can do.
I have seen entries from all sorts of authors including mine.
In a way, I'm flattered, but I don't want my stuff associated with that kind of site.
I'm behind each and every one of you who have had the misfortune to have been nabbed by these arseholes and hope they rot in hell - slowly and painfully.
NB
Chief objection
My chief objection to the site is the raunchiness of the ads there and the rudeness of reposting in such a contest without asking. My one story they ripped off is a very bittersweet but gentle comedy and really seems out of place among the semi-hardcore photos. It's as if the site has an identity problem. It's possible they may be reasonable about requests to remove stories. We can hope.

This happened to me in a not so objectionable way
Still irking, but not as bad as this.
When I was going by a different name, I participated in a study by some doctorate students involving TG folks. Part of that study was a "confidential" interview. Two years later, I found myself quoted on a website. Granted, the website was helpful, and they didn't charge for the info they distributed, but they didn't ask me for permission to use my quote. I doubt they got the permission of ISNA for the info they grabbed from them, either. Any and all inquiries into why I wasn't asked and where they got the quote have gone unanswered. They -did- credit me with the quote, even.
I Object
...but find myself strangely short of righteous indignation at the moment.
Had I been asked, I wouldn't have given permission, but is the site much different than being posted next to some of the stories on FM? I seem to recall having one of my stories posted next to "My First Blowjob" on FM. That was humiliating.
Angela Rasch (Jill M I)
Angela Rasch (Jill M I)
Oh my Gosh
It's a rather rancid site, ain't it? That is to say.., it's pr0n alright, but that's all there is to it.
I think it's not overly gross. Well yes, it's about she-males getting it on with men, but no children. Or animals. Or women. Hey, that's funny, no women. Actually you seldom see women getting it on with she-males. Or maybe I don't get 'out' enough. The internetz is getting so big now-a-days. Oh well.
But think about it. Who is most lewd and hurtful to T* people, it's men. Openly at least. And yet here they come in drives to indulge in their lecherousness. I find it rather ironic.
Of course they have no right to pirate BC ( or FM, or StorySite, or Stardust ) but well I don't think there is anything to be done to. Against. or whatever
It's a bit of a shame I am no author, so I can't go and demand them to remove my material. Damn, now I feel double as bad. I am behind you all, authors, demanding they remove your writings. Really I am. But I can't get in the true righteous state of indignation about it.
Maybe we should see it a tribute to mtF-ness? For all the wrong reasons of course.
Jo-Anne
F*****g Pirate B*****ds!
I found one or two of my stories there as well. Someone tell me, is posting stories at Storysite, Top Shelf, FM, Sapphire's etc, giving tacit permission for someone to lift them and post them to another site without the author's permission? I do NOT like this, and I do NOT want my stories on a porn site!!! I too have messaged them to immediately remove my stories, but there's no telling if they will.

It's quite a user hostile site.
It's not exactly easy to find stories and not very easy to read them comfortably either, if you do find one. I couldn't be bothered to search to see if any of my 3 stories are posted but I can't see the site surviving long. Pretty sleazy, though.

Two minds
If the member who put up my stories there had asked, I would have said okay. It's taken from FM, which, in my opinion, with a few pictures of penises a-bobbing and pudendas a-gleaming, has some pornography. Tstories.com just has a different emphasis about what is posted there.
The property rights issue is real, but in this case a little bit inexplicable. Why couldn't they have simply linked to the stories?
An aside: Could it be that FM is too slow? :-O

Many hands
A lot of the story re-posts appear to have been done by fans of what may have started as a porn video site + forum. If you re-post something here, you have to claim to be the original owner or be posting with the owner's permission. This protects me from the accusation that I promote theft of stories from other sites and cuts down on how often I have to remove something that WAS posted without permission. Looks like these guys didn't think of that or didn't care.

It looks to me
like they have a harvester bot getting the stuff. In the time since I asked to have my stuff removed, all of the stories have been posted a second time and even more have appeared. The original batch were all posted by the same user, who appears to be making 90+ posts a day.

My objection is simple
I don't really think that there is a permanent fix to this
thing, and as I said, I only post here. My stuff has
very little prurient value anyway.
My objection to this whole thing is, that they are selling
time to chat with the young ladies, and they are using the
I Props of the authors to help to do it, by attracting them
to the site.
There is quite obviously a bot involved, which puts it
squarly in the lap of the site owner.

DMCA/Safe Harbor/TStories.Com
Just a little info to help authors whom might be upset and want their stories removed. In response to this site, I sent an email to FDC Servers.net, LLC the ISP or at least owner of the IP address where TSTories.Com resides. I found this information using the ARIN Whois Lookup tool.
Using the email addresses found there, I sent an email off, using a modified version of this wikipedia template: Standard Violation Letter To Service Providers (I just sent the DMCA Takedown one).
As a result, FDC Servers responded in less than 10 minutes saying that they have contacted the customer/site maintainer and that the offending materials will be removed in less than 24 hours.
I don't know if it WILL happen or not, but I know that if the ISP lets the site remain after 24 hours and the offending materials are not removed, the ISP looses it's safety net under the Safe Harbor provision of DMCA. :)
Hope this helps in getting everyone's stories taken care of.

And I've told them to look at your comment, Piper, as some of those stories were copied from FM, too
it appears to me that they have just been using a webcrawler to harvest everything.
Stories by Heather Rose Brown, and Maggie the Kitten are certainly not the sort of thing they'd want, IMO, but some of them are there. but again, only the stuff posted to FM, not here only.
My name appears several places as editor or proofreader, but hopefully they will eventually disappear.
I know several people at Google personally, so when it appears the stories are gone, I'll see if I can get the Google links to disappear, too. That might be difficult, since Google knows about all of the text, but hopefully, they might just be able wipe clean any references to the site and make it start over. The girl I just spoke to thinks it could be done that way.

On a side note when using Google to search a site you don't need the http:// part of the url, so in this case
site:tstories.com
Does the same job as the example posted above.
If they haven't mined here then they won't have any of mine as here is all I have... well apart from my own, which would be a pig to mine as its all hard coded.

Uggh!
Well they mined all the MORFS stories from FM. apparently they filled up the bizzar body mod catagory? so i'm ass pissed as everyone else. anyone know what email addy to send a complaint to?
Addy
It's [email protected]. I got the same reply Danielle did; that my stories would be removed immediately. I'm not sure I would have gotten anything had it not been for Piper's action, however. I suspect their ISP came down on them pretty fast.

Thanks to Danielle_J who posted a warning via TG_Fiction Group and to everyone here who pounced on these people. Scott, Pippa and everyonne else, good effort.
It's one thing if say a student posted my stuff to a college web site because he or she liked it. I'm not in it for the money, just the fun and the commeradery. BUT, one should always ask permission and two, from what other's said, this sounds like a site for profit. That I seriously object to. As at least one other contributor here said, my material his hardly *stroke* worthy so if they did get anything of mine, it will *disapoint*.
If you copy my free to read stuff for your enjoyment and offer that to others for free, great but to make money off another's work, very bad.
A bot grabbing by catagory? Hum, maybe that's why access to FM and even BC was very slow recently.

Lake Mead
Just yesterday I read an article that said due to global warming and even with safeguards inplace the Lake could be drained by 2021.I moved to Arizona in the late 90's the lake was full.It now looks to be atleast 150 ft lower than when I moved here.Lake mead is a big lake so imagine how much water that is and how long if ever it will take to refill it.Then on top of that they said in 2017 it could be so lo it couldn't be used to generate hydro electricity.Las Vegas has allready had to lower their water inlet tubes used for providing the City with water.Plans are in the works for them to pipe water in from Northern Nevada and there has been disputes about Nevada trying to buy up and use water from Arizona. So from where I live global warming seems pretty real.Amy
