It is currently day 3 of my Florida vacation with my parents and my cousin, and a vacation means that I actually have the time to get back on the site again! Woo! But that time shall pass by briefly, as once I get back to Ohio I need to get back on my work/school thing.
Even with the tail end (at least, I *hope* it's the tail end) of a sudden squall is passing overhead as I'm typing this, it's been fun thus far and I'm looking forward to the sunset sailboat cruse that's lined up for tomorrow, pending the weather.
The condo I'm in (belonging to my Mom's boss) has a view of the bay between Siesta Key and the mainland and, for the moment, patterns can be seen in the surface of the water from where the freshwater from the rain and the saltwater from the bay are deciding not to mix.
Very interesting to watch. :)
Just thought I'd share for any who were interested.
Any suggestions on where to go or what to see?

Siesta Key
I have been there it is a white sand beach with shallow clear blue water. The sand is as fine as baby powder.
The Key is on the west coast south of Tampa - Bradenton , Florida . Looking for a nice quiet lay back lay out on the beach this is the place.
Not this very second...
At the moment, there's huge puddles of standing water all over the place. Some of them are knee deep, too.
But normally you're right, this place is a paradise.
Peace be with you and Blessed be
Sarasota / Siesta Key
I grew up in Sarasota, and haven't been back in almost 20 years so the town I remember isn't like it is now. But if you like Art I highly recommend the Ringling Art Museum (It once was John Ringling's(of circus fame) private collection) Outside of the beaches Sarasota hasn't much to offer. I remember when I was young watching the circus trains come to town so that was different in my day but those days are long gone. Enjoy the beaches you won't find many like those on Siesta, all that white powdery sand is natural there is only one other natural one like it in Florida and it is in the Panhandle.
