Today is a very big day in the U.S.
It's Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
It's the day of the Giants victory parade in New York City.
And, it's Super Tuesday, a day on which 24 States have their Presidential primary.
So, get out there and catch beads, cheer, and/or vote, as appropriate!
And, if you're not registered to vote, today is a really good day to head to your local post office, motor vehicles bureau, or board of elections, depending which is more convenient for you, and go fill out a voter registration form so you can vote in the fall in the general election. Don't put it off. It's an easy thing to procrastinate.

Too Slow...
Our polling places opened 3 1/2 hours ago Pippa. :-)
Open
And, they're open until 9 pm here in my state (yours may be earlier), so there's plenty of time to go vote. But, please don't wait until the last minute. Next thing you know, you're wrapped up in some tv show, and the time has just slipped away.
super-Tuesday?
Is this the last round of Pres Idol for this year? :)
Alas...
...not hardly! We've got another, I dunno, score or so states yet to have their primaries, and then this summer we'll be having the two big parties' nominating conventions, for more noise and spectacle. Only in the event that no one has won their party's nomination outright will there be much interesting going on, though.
And then... And then...
There's this little thing call "the general election", where we elect the general, er... I mean President of the "most powerful nation on earth"(tm), as well as a bunch of mokes to rassle over legislation in the Congress, and various local and state governments, too. That will be taking place on November 4. Presumably, if no one screws around with the results, or the unauditable automated voting equipment, or at least does so in an undetectable way, and if the Court stays out of it, it could all be over on the morning of November 5. Keep your fingers crossed.
And, if you weren't able to vote today because you're not registered, this would be a good time to get off your duff and take care of that so you can vote this fall.
