After several years of living on the cusp, my mother suffered a major stroke Monday and passed away this morning. The next week or so is going to be rough. Service in Dallas followed by burial in SE Missouri. Please keep my family in your thoughts.

I am so sorry for your loss, Karen
I remember you telling me she was in poor health but we are rarely prepared for the death of those close to us.
It will be eight years this coming June from the day my mother died. We knew she would die for months as the cancer was too far gone but it was so hard to let go.
I hope you had a chance tp talk to her recently on the phone or in person.
But know this. She must have loved you greatly.
It would have been so easy to turn her back on you when you transitioned but clearly she did not.
To you, Karen, and to all the others here, remember your mothers. The good and the bad.
But remember.

So sorry to hear that
It's always sad when a family member dies. Bear up the best you can and try to remember the good times. We'll be praying for you.

Lord, what fools these mortals be!
There are never words...
And we never stop needing our mothers. I do not know your faith, but I truly believe they never stop watching over us.
The good times
are a gift from those who has gone one before us to ease the hurt and loss.
Big gentle hugs

Sad news...
I'm sorry for your loss too, Karen.
My own parents are getting pretty elderly and developing health problems, so I may have to say my own goodbyes any time. Burying your parents is part of life, except when they outlive their own children, but that doesn't make it easier to say that. My best wishes to you and your family in this stressful time.

Hugs are all I can offer, hon. We all know these things will happen but that doesn't mean they don't hurt.
Many hugs,
