Recently I saw an add about a local church which said they would accept anyone, so I emailed and described my transgender status and said I was looking for a church where I could attend and not hide my true nature.
Here is the reply:
Patricia,
Thank you for your interest in attending Rolling Hills. You would be welcomed to attend and we’d love to have you participate in our worship and our community groups. As with any church, you will find a wide variety of people with many different perspectives and life experiences relating to people with gender variance but we desire to be a place of acceptance and love for every person who is seeking to understand what it means to follow Jesus. Our desire as a church is to learn to think, love and live like Jesus and I hope your experience with us reflects that. We have several private rest rooms in our facility and would ask you to use these (you can ask at our information station for directions).
I hope this helps you feel welcome and would be happy to answer any other questions you have and would love to meet you on a Sunday morning. You can usually find me at the West Communities station in our Atrium.
Sincerely,
Dave Carr

Now if only more would follow
People generally do not like change, I've learned that by attending church. I would love to go to a church who says welcome instead of judging me because I am different then they are.
Looks like you have a place that is going to accept you. I would be there bright and early on Sunday.
I began taking classes to become a pastor so I could have a church that practices true Christianity. A place where all are welcome to worship. I wanted to get away from the judgmental people. My depression got in the way. I do attend Church but not as often as I would like.
Let us know how it goes and maybe we can somehow find other churches just as open.

Patricia, I hope that

Give it a go girl.
After a reply like that, you can only give it a try. Some people need to find a community structure in their search for spiritual expression so all they can do is search until they find such a community/congregation/church. Good luck Patti.
