She's had a somewhat less

She's had a somewhat less complete version of that same article up for years...

Thanks for pointing out that it's been updated with a much more complete history of events...

It's truly a pity that there's people out there like that...

Abigail Drew.

I don't understand...

I don't understand people like the one described in that article (or the others mentioned, for that matter)... I know they exist. I intellectually understand some of their motivations. But, in my gut, I just don't get it.

That said - I know many (here included) who would rather be labeled "intersex" or almost anything than "transgender/transsexual". I find that sad.

Thanks for the link, I think. No, I'd rather have read it, and be more aware than to be blind sided at some future date.

One thing that would make the article/blog more effective would be actual references that support the author's statements... As things stand, it appears we're asked to accept them at face value.

Call me a deserter.

The truth is that I went through about 6 years as a Trans person, and the exposure and rejection I had really hurt. Of course I brought on a lot of my own pain because I tried to remain part of the faith community. For me that meant what felt like a legitimate community. I can't even count how many times there was initial acceptance, then exposure, then I'd be reviled, and finally excluded. To call ones self transgendered is the way of pain.

So, after the blood test and the news of what was really going on, I put on the Inter-sex hat. Life has been much better. So, if I am a coward, or deserter, fine.

And, ultimately, scientists will find the causation of all this GBLT stuff and it will be more understood, and the stigma will hopefully go away.

...more like one of those folks who fall on the barb wire fence so that the rest of us can move forward. What I've taken away from the article, irrespective of the conclusions it might have, is that like many of us, the author of the site is describing one more way that someone who isn't 'trans' has chosen to define those of us who are? And while there might be a commonality we all share as humans, it really does get frustrating when someone insists that they know more about us than we do; that freely give marginally knowledgeable advice that we so often hear. The ostensibly sympathetic voice that speaks on our behalf regardless of what we ourselves choose to say? And the acceptance that is all too similar to the treatment we may receive from our families and others; that subtle look or word that makes all the care and concern conditional upon how they see our needs; needs that they, as they article seems to indicate, find are 'wants' much in the same way we might choose dinner or a college major.

No, my dear, you've stayed at your post, in a manner of speaking, leaving only long enough during your enlistment to scout out new positions or help secure beachheads? Thank you as always, along with those who are so much further and so much braver than I could ever dream of being.

THANK YOU Caution Wolf go's nuts post.

Sweet Heart. For bringing this to our attention. I am familiar with some of these people and there hatefulness for hate sake.

The power trip some people get off on when they think they can get at the vulnerable using the public as there tools; makes these people as close to true evil as they can come. Personally I thing they have a axis 2 or 3 disorder, and like little Adolf they really needed acute medical attention on an in house treatment plan. For centuries Cowards like this have spread their hate and vile abuses so they can use others to do there dirty work. Yes this is a personal thing to me on so many levels I can not count. It brings out my Wolf instantly and that raging beast pushes all of my work to remain a center of peace back behind the She wolf's perceived protection.

I am by nature a very protective and peaceful nurturing person who tries to the best of her abilities to remain so. But there are those who try to start fires and burn people with it just because they can. These people need a leg or arm removed forcefully by a over sized predator in order to educate them as to the folly of there ways. Then they need to shut the Fu@# up.
I apologize to those who are more sensitive among us for my vitriol post.

There is nothing wrong with being trans

wow. I feel like someone has hit me with a sledge hammer after reading that. Denise Magner had the signs of someone desperately needing help and did not appear to get it nor love nor acceptance. This person disliked herself so much she regressed inward, covering herself up layer by layer to hide the core being of herself and the core issues driving her insane.

sigh.

I just know she was crying for help and no one recognized it.

I don't know all the particulars, and probably no one else does either to this case. It is truly sad and devastating :( My only wish would have been for her to have had her core self issues exposed and worked out to have also found a way that she could be at peace with herself. As it stands, now, all I can do is wish her a much better shot at life in the way that she truly would like it to be in her next life. She needs a break.

As for the manipulators like (Bailey) - who destroyed the lives of people without a blink? They need to be baptized and made holey by Archbishops Smith & Wesson.

ps. Being trans gay bi lesbian intersex, whatever. They are just labels defining a condition. They don't mean much really when it comes to us as people. It's how we interact with others that defines us. Love. Helping each other.

I'm Not Remembering This Too Well,

But I went to a 3 - 5 day "New Womyn's" conference in Guerneville CA in '95. Dr. Anne Lawrence was there, I think for a few days. I think she had a PhD not an MD or was an anesthesiologist or something like that. Soon after she went to Canada to join Blanchard and got another doctorate of some kind, as a sexologist/sex researcher. I spoke with Anne off and on while she was there at the conference.

I'm bringing this up because she was very sure that she was autogynephilic. She was intelligent and was just describing herself so I had no reason to doubt her. I think she is autogyn' along with some small fraction of TSs. She surprised me once by saying her female orgasms were about the same as her male ones had been. Mine had been orders of magnitude more powerful and wondrous. Thinking about this lead me to consider that maybe, for decades, I wasn't orgasming when I ejaculated; who knows?

I knew I wasn't autogyn, since I was caught XDed, then told my parents I was a girl at around 4 YO. It seems that few would have this autogyn condition. I knew or cared nothing about sex for a long time, had a latish puberty and became interested in sex with young wimyn probably later that most of the guys I knew. I sort of turned bi after estrogen exposure thru' HRT, pre-op, but I'm mainly lesbian. I'm counter to most of Blanchard/Zucker's theories. I'm a primary TS, but not androphilic (mainly); I transitioned at 42 YO, previously had only been with wimyn and never even fantasized about anything with guys, so maybe I shouldn't have cared about guys at all, but I did. After thinking on these and earlier theories of TSism, I disregarded all of them. I've long believed a TS grows an opposite sex brain, starting in the first trimester, from biological/hormonal conditions in the womb and after that anything can happen. Transitioning very young is nearly always the best course to a mostly normal life.

I also think that we all "could" be considered intersex because we have a brain the opposite sex of our gonads; this seems to fit the definition of sex organs of both male and fem (shape, construction, etc.), which ever way it is.

Hugs and Bright Blessings,
Renee

Ray Blanchard

I suppose i really dodged a bullet with my reticence about attending the Gender Clinic in Toronto before now... Dr. Blanchard was one of two doctors running it during the 1990's. He and Doctor Doctor (not the eighties band) ran the clinic like a private kingdom, using trans people to experiment on and attempt to prove heir private theories.

I honestly feel sorry for the 'Victims' of doctors like Ray Blanchard.
