I've noticed it too, maybe it's just a lot of traffic.
Mr. Ram
Yes! Seems very slow.
Will always get one hand of Solitaire in before a page changes.

Not just you. After clicking
Not just you. After clicking on 'Add new comment' it took about thirty seconds (perhaps more) to move on to the next stage. For me, at least; it has been like this for a few days.
We've been working on the slowness of the site for four hours
Still trying to find out what is going on.
Hugs,
Erin

Missing Images...
FYI missing images should slowly fix themselves over the next 30 mins or so, and is due to the CDN not being able to pull copies while the site was offline.
-HuGgLeS- and sorry.

It was...
Seems to be doing better since they took the server offline and then brought it back up.
Annette
site much faster than Denise reported to me
via e-mail.
She tried to log on at four AM and hit her sixty second timeout three times before giving up and racing off to catch her plane.
She said the home page came up fast as lightening but she couldn't go anywhere else.
Seems to be working much better now.

Clear your browser Cache
out and relog back in. I am having to do it daily now to keep my paging through BCTS as fast as possible. Something about how Firefox and IE 9 cache stuff and how they treat web pages is causing glitches. Not the ideal solution but it works.
Sephrena
For what it's worth...
The site seems to work quite well with Google Chrome.
Annette
It's Worse
I couldn't even get on it for about eight hours.
Portia
Worse now?
The problem seems to have been cleared on this end but yes, it was very slow for about 8 hours and we are still working on why it was slow but we do seem to have restored normal speeds for the moment.
If you are still having problems, send me an email at [email protected].

I noticed...
I noticed - yesterday - that right after the reboot, things seemed to be faster, but they slowed down a lot later in the day. Today, things do seem back to normal.

i was
trying from 8am until knocking on 10pm! very strange

Thank you....
Erin, Piper, & Sephrena for getting it going again! (Hugs) Taarpa
Always
I have never been able to log onto BCTS for just one hour during the day. I've alway assumed this was for ongoing maintenance. However now this has been occurring more often.
Maintenance happens
Maintenance is scheduled at 2 AM Mountain time which is the slowest time for the site anyway. Right now, maintenance is taking longer than 30 minutes but we hope to make that smaller. If you have problems logging on at other times, let us know with the details. Yesterday was unusual.

Much quicker now.
It's been incredibly slow lately - make a cup of coffee whilst waiting slow - but it's fine this morning (1100 BST) What ever's been done seems to be working. Thanks, Piper, Erin et al.

Is it just me?
Seems to be fixed, now.

Time zone related?
It seems as if it might be related to the number of users on at any one time.
I usually do a check of everything first thing after breakfast (~10:00 GMT+1) and I get good throughput. There's not so many people on then, as it's early in the US. If I come back later in the day (sad, isn't it!) (~16:00-20:00 GMT+1) then the bad responses start.
It just means I have to make sure to do anything important first thing to make sure I don't lose anything along the way.

Uploading a story
is still slower than it used to was.
Angharad
Yep
A lot slower than this morning (BST in UK). I usually have a look elsewhere whilst waiting so it's not my connection or my machine.
Not complaining, this is just for your information.
Robi
ditto.
Which means it's not just trans-atlantic.
