Well, Since You Asked, (and I'm nerdy)....
The modern, "2nd generation" antipsychotics, like Risperdal and Abilify are dopamine reuptake inhibiters, so they increase the amount of dopamine in the neuron synapses. I remember feeling pretty nice taking them, but they made me super hungry. I gained 40lbs in one year. The other problem I had was getting off of the drug; I tried to quit a few times. After 6 months I managed to cut my dose in half; after a year it seemed easy to quit. Maybe I was just really disgusted by then with my weight.
I had very minor hearing and visual distortions from stress from my depression, but Abilify made those go away very quickly!

Thanks for the prescription, and how do I take the medicine? Sorry, it's not true, =) just kidding, so far I've never had to take any medicine for depression neither I smoke nor I drink alcohol, and I appreciate your comment and that you wanted to share your knowledge with me. Hugs !!!
