I am retired Air Force, a graduate of OTS, and also was an OTS flight commander and instructor for five years; however, I know that the ordeal at the Air Force Academy is something totally different. I've known a number of Academy graduates over the years; however, it's been 24 years since I retired and have lost contact with any of them. I am familiar with drill and ceremonies, taught it, and some of the other things that go on, but any information would be appreciated.
Knowing that much about what happens at Jacks Valley is confidential, I don't want to delve too much in that area; however any information about those first six weeks, especially chow hall rituals, terrazzo and other idiosyncracies about the place for first year students would be appreciated. I am working on what will probably be the last in the California Saga series.
If there is a C-130J pilot out there, I need a little information about flight controls. I know that the J model is quite different from previous models.

Been there. I'm probably going to have to go out to LRAFB and find a pilot who will talk to me. I don't want to give my story away, but I need some detailed cockpit information. I never wanted to fly, and my bad eyes made that a certainty. I might just have to make a bunch of stuff up. Many authors get away with doing that.
