There are several stories that I have been following for quite a while; probably the same ones that the rest of you follow. There are a couple that I just can not sit still for.

I was about to write a note to one of the Authors, pointedly encouraging them to get to work. Then I began to remember how many stories I have hanging in the freezer.......

I am profoundly sorry for what I was about to say to a few of you. I will sit with my nose in the corner for a while to think over my acting like a spoiled little girl.

Sniff.

Complaining

Gwen,

Be secure in the knowledge that many more readers are at least as greedy as you are, especially ME.

Faster, faster! Churn those stories out. :-))

G/R

That's one reason I avoid multi chapter stories.

Too often they take years to finish or are never finished. Give me stories that are neatly wrapped up in 150K or less! For long stories, I really prefer reading books that I can hold in my hands.

Mr. Ram

Long Stories are an Assache

I certainly won't read anything that doesn't fit on a single page. Also, unfinished stories doubleplus suck. On the topic of printed books, I don't expect the Amazon Kindle to put them out of business any time soon.

A personal standard.

I have set a personal standard of 100K for a chapter. I like using my computer to read with because I can magnify the print to the point that I am comfortable, but I still do read books too.

Gwen, I'm one of the worst ...

I am impatient about other's work yet often my own crawls.

I will finish them all, honest!

Just don't stop breathing in anticipation.

hey

some novels have taken years to finish. I think my idea im writing now will become novel length. But since its forced femme i dont think any publisher will touch it with a 10 foot pole so i will put it here if erin will let me.

Maybe it's encouraging

Maybe the writers wouldn't take it badly (Look what happened after Justme got a couple of comments.), and they might like to hear that someone remembers their old story.

(Do you still visit, Wanda? Please.)(I guess Erin has 3o million reasons, and has given us 30 million other things (including stories), so I won't mention hers.)

Just a possibility.

There are many reasons for stories to remain...

unfinished or left for long periods of time before they are continued or chapters added.

I have more than a few, but I also keep on writing new stories and add to my older ones.

My muse is a funny one, but I do continue to write. By what I read by some of these commenter's, I should just pack up my muse and leave. I mean how selfish can you get?

A few and thankfully a minority of those commenting have three things on their minds. They are ME, MYSELF, and I! Selfish, give me what I want or I'll ignore your work.

To those minority commenter's I say, nothing, you aren't worth the time, and I could care less about your egotistical selfish ramblings. Read what you want, your just takers anyway, writing hurtful comments to those who really put their hearts into their work for you to enjoy. Then, only to read their work is beneath you? Giggle, giggle...

To the writers of the "longer" stories, the "series" you have yet to finish or add to. Keep writing, because the majority of us really care for your work, and we do read them! Yes, we want to see them finished, but you are the writer, and you know when you are able to give your story the quality time they need to finish them.

A writer can't or will not just bang out an ending to "service" the selfish demanding readers who thankfully are a minority here.

Just look at the signatures of those complaining and insulting the writers of the longer stories and those still working on finishing the long series! I rest my case! Giggle, giggle...

How many great stories have these so-called human beings with so-called hearts ignored? Oh, poor babies, to long for them to enjoy? Giggle, giggle...

I can understand people wanting stories to be finished, especially stories that have been online for a while, but all I can do is speak for myself and tell you all that each and everyone one of mine will eventually be finished, but that won't stop me from posting new stories, completed ones, but new.

No matter how many times Mom (Erin) mentions to think before you click on the submit button for comments, we still get these few people with no feelings for their fellow human beings. Some of us writers really think some of them have ulterior motives!

Anyway, just a pep talk for those writers with works still needing to be added to and finished. Keep writing, write your new stuff, write more of your ongoing stuff, just keep writing.

Remember those few commenter's that commented with that ridiculous statement that they can tell by reading the first paragraph of a story if it was good enough to read the rest? Giggle, giggle, yeah right! LOL...

We are all ways going to get these types of comments and I applaud Gwen for her way of encouraging we authors that fit that category she mentions, giggle, giggle...

I can only speak for my writing here, but I'm sure many authors are doing the same thing. We continue to write, and we continue to work on our older stuff, sometimes the continuations work, and sometimes they don't. Time will tell, and we all have the time or we wouldn't be writing.

Giggle, giggle...Donna, I can't help myself!

I do feel, and it burns me to read comments from those that have no feelings towards others, just declaring their selfish wants and desires.

Gwen has feelings and her post was a nice encouraging one with her admission she has stories left unfinished as well.

Jan mentioned a positive reaction from Justme, from positive encouraging nudges from others. They were not the negative "here's is why 'I' don't read..." Giggle, giggle...

We are here to help and encourage each other, both the writer, and the reader, not to make demands from our own selfish desires. Not to comment negatively on stories that don't meet with our wants. Do they help and encourage the authors? Do they encourage people to read the stories? No, they have a negative effect, and we authors think that is what these minority posters are really after!

And i was going to stop......

After reading those posts, I figured, why should I even continue..... If no one is going to read a story that consists of chapters, then I should have stopped a long time ago..... If no one is going to read a story that has chapters, why should I continue.... I may as well pack up and head off to bed and get some real sleep at night instead of tapping on my keyboard. I was about to give it up and make it easier for all of those poor readers out there who just can't handle reading more than 1,000 words at a time and just........... Stop.

Thanks Angel. your words have made me realize that I should continue.... and not just because I Have a great story that my 3 fans(plus Jezzi) like. If those out there don't want to learn patience in watching a character grow, to be enthralled as a plot twists around and catches you unaware, then that is their tough luck.

Or should I give them what they want:

One upon a time there was a boy that was turned into a girl and had to learn to adjust to life being a girl, even though he didn't know how. She tried various things and ended up just accepting herself and lived happily ever after. The End.

I hope they vote and comment on that.......It should do well.

Anistasia Allread, that's four fans! Giggle, giggle...

You can count me as a fan because I love your writing.

You know. it's the newbie writer and the author that begins to have doubts these thoughtless comments hurt the most. Where we are to encourage, they hinder, where we reach out to help, they dismiss out of hand.

I'm feeling a bit guilty for not commenting more for those authors stories I've enjoyed, and for not offering my help even more to those newbies that could use my limited help. I'm not that good a proofer, and I'm definitely not an editor, but I can proof a bit, and I can offer suggestions. That is, until someone better than my meager efforts can step in and take over.

I think I'll do just that, anyway, it can't hurt to offer right?

I'm not that good either.

I'm not very good at leaving comments either..... We all enjoy them, but I have a hard time knowing what to say, other that "Ditto what the other commentors said". I do vote for stories and chapters that I like.... but I'm also very selfish with my voting........ If I feel that the writer is missing the mark, or rushing (as I often do) then I won't vote, or I'll PM them with my concerns.

Thank you for your support Angel........ since I just lost a fan or two who don't like reading chapters, then I guess you will round it out to three fans again. :)

(trying to finish up my next chapter as we play)

After considerable self examination.....

Well, after getting my intellectual butt redened by Alek (from being Christina Chase), I am more than chastized.

Fearing more from Alek, I got to work writing tonight and punched out about 3000 words. For some reason, I just had idea after idea tonight and only stopped writing when the tears flowing out of my eyes prevented me from going further. I can't believe how much emotional energy I get into my stories at times. Besides, it is hard to touch the keys when each breath comes as a great gout of air.

I've about got another chapter of "Changed by Aliens" out.

I think I'll be shooting this over to my editor tomorrow some time. I have a good start on Chapter 3 and I can easily see it going for another two or three chapters. We are talking major action here folks.

I hope you all like it when it comes out.

It is midnight. Sleep well people. :)

A.A., I have a few questions

What color was her hair? Did she find a husband or lifemate?

And what about her cat Tiddles?

John in Wauwatosa acting very silly.

P.S. Thanks to everyone who writes or offers integent and/or humorous comments.

John in Wauwatosa

John's Answers :)

Well, since I'm partial to redheads.... Lets make her a copper-top, with green, or blue eyes.

As for a partner? she found both a husband and a lifemate all wrapped up in one.

as for Tiddles? poor, poor Tiddles? Tiddles was hit by a car. There was a brief time of grieving (10 seconds should do) and then She went out and bought a puppy and the cat... what was it's name?..... well anyway the cat's memory faded into oblivion.

A.A.

p.s. I found this one very humorous.

I think long stories suck too

You won't catch me writing any! Actually, I'm lying as usual. Are people so bored that this is all they have to think about? Just for that Falling will get longer - like my nose, bugger my pants are on fire....
