Life is a form of art

Many things work the way this lady describes, not just creativity. Life is often lived best by those who show up for the task.

= Give everyone the benefit of the doubt because certainty is a fragile thing that can be shattered by one overlooked fact.

I can relate.

On multiple levels. When I write verse or poetry, it is some inspiration that drives me. When I write fiction, it is the myriad voices of my characters which drives me. When I write a computer program...

None of it ever comes from me, none. Never has, never will. I am merely the instrument through which it brings itself into being in this realm. It already existed, technically, before I ever coaxed into it a form hopefully comprehensible to my fellow humankind.

... I thought every creative person already knew this? Perhaps I was falsely assuming, and it is merely my unique way of looking at the world, at the infinities and eternities that has permitted me to keep from thinking myself loftier than I am.

Avoid Writer's Insanity?

You are supposed to be ALREADY insane before you start! It's sanity you have to avoid.
