What a ****ing awful few weeks! (Expletive deleted by Author)

Sorry about the rant, but I've had enough of 2012, can we move onto 2013?
In the last month, my mother had two strokes, one major one and one small one. Fortunately, she has managed to get through without many lasting side effects, but she's 87 and likely to have more. They discovered that her left artery feeding her brain was 90% blocked and the other was 40% blocked, so they put her through a two and a half hour operation to clear the blockage on the left. They said there was a 2 - 3% chance of her not making it, or having a massive stroke while under. Praise be, she was fine, but then they discharged her two days later because they didn't want anyone in at the week end. This is a woman in a motorised wheelchair living with her 86 year old husband with more problems than she has, so who has to drop everything and get stuck in?

Me!

Then my lovely dog had to be put down. He was only 10, but has had a host of problems over the last 9 months, not least leukaemia. Fortunately we still have his son, but will look for another Jack Russell puppy to keep him company. Then my son and his wife and children get flu, or at least the little boys do, but then as they get better, their parents get it, so guess who has to have the boys (2 & 3) for two weeks?

... I'm too old for this!

We're told that eating red meat will kill you, the Olympics are going to bankrupt the nation, and the recession is getting worse. ….

.. oh yes, and my back has gone again.

I've stopped working to do all the above, so am relying on book sales to eek out my pension, but it leaves me with one question....

How the heck am I supposed to write anything?

Ah, feel a little better after a small rant.... boys are asleep, might try to write a sentence or two.

Bye for now.

Hope things improve for you

Hope things improve for you soon, strokes are never good, I can imagine how frightening it probably was, after suffering a stroke on christmas eve I'd never wish anyone to suffer one, it shook me up a lot.

Anyway lets hope your year improves.

Which only goes to prove

that when one door closes, another slams in your face. Keep your chin up; that way, you won't see the trip hazards.

Don't forget; if at first you don't succeed, give up.
