Just wanted to let those of you following my medical drama know that there was apparently a clerical error/miscommunication, so no surgery today after all.
Basically, what happened was my regular doctor's office THOUGHT the surgeon was going to schedule me for both a consultation and procedure same-day. The problem is even if they wanted to do it same-day, Medicaid requires that they send in for state approval for the nature of the procedure - I'm sparing on the details because it's kind of gross to talk about :-P But it's more dentistry stuff, suffice to say.
The GOOD news is, this dentist is a really nice guy, and very easy to talk to. I seriously did not know good dentists who aren't grouchy arse-holes even existed until today :-P The other good news is, I'm almost done with this stuff. Once I have the procedure done, I'll be in the clear except for a few follow-up checkups.
Anyway, what all this means for the Robinverse is HOPEFULLY more Becoming Robin soon, and Ashly and I are hashing out the next chapter of Everything's Sunny with Sarah as well. :-)
The only real 'suck' to all of this is that I had to skip breakfast, after a very light dinner last night, thinking I'd be going under the knife today. So I stressed out, didn't eat, etc. over nothing.
At least next time maybe I won't be so stressed though, now that I've met the doctor and everything. :-)

Don't ya just love it?! :)
Hopefully it won't take too long for the powers-that-be to give the go-ahead to do the work.
Is the problem relatively static, or is it something likely to get considerably worse if they procrastinate?
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
Fairly static, thankfully.
It's primarily a cosmetic issue related to complications from a previous extraction.
{Highlight to read} There are a couple of minor bone "spikes" that need to be smoothed out, one of which is trying to abscess, but he talked like the latter is nothing to worry about :-D
Basically the whole procedure shouldn't take more than 45 minutes to an hour once the approval comes through, and the one that was actually causing me problems for awhile now has almost completely stopped bothering me ironically. I still need to get it corrected to avoid problems down the road, but it's not something that's going to put me in any kind of serious pain or danger, or anything :-)
The main reason I've probably sounded so grim about it before is that I abso-freaking-lutely despise needles, plus not knowing who I'd be dealing with initially. He suggested I drink lots of water, and told me they'd start with a little laughing gas to help with that, so I'm feeling a lot better about the whole thing.
Would that I could abate thy pain, oh my Lady....
...but alas and alack, I have no means of dental intervention. Shall I play thee a lay upon my lute instead, O Queen of Sweetness? Mayhaps a whiff of Nitrous Oxide?

Clerical error! Blech.
