Stereotypes?

Nah! Girls like all sorts of 'guy' stuff, don't we? Please allow my niece Amelia Manfredonia and her girlfriend Seraphina Polycastro to elucidate -

Congrats...

Now comes the hard part.

Yep, stereotyping is working correctly.

As an Eagles fan...

It's very hard to root for the Giants...except when they play the Cowboys, the team I loathe the most in any pro sport.

Poor Eagles Fan....

Sorry, but the only time I want the Eagles to win is when they're playing the Cowboys and the Cowboys have a better record. Course the only time I want the Cowboys to win is when they're playing the Eagles and the Eagles have a better record.

And I grew up outside of Philly... The only team I like from Philly is the Union.

Da Bears..... :-)

I take it,

this isn't cricket we're talking about? You lot in the colonies don't know what you're missing.

Cricket

Ohhh, the never ending game... Isn't that game the one that goes even longer that Baseball? lol

I'm not sure ...

... but isn't it rounders they're talking about. I suppose it could be that strange game where they play a version of rugby but go rather far with the padding and doing rather more than taping their fingers together as well being unpenalised for forward passes.

Never will understand US sport :)

I was up until 4.30am in the morning on this side of the pond watching the game and my beloved Giants. I believe in Eli! :-) Stereotypes are made to be broken. I'm an English girl who likes American sports after all.

"Just once I want my life to be like an 80's movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, no, John Hughes did not direct my life."

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

No such thing!

No matter who is wearing those shirts, man or woman, they are misleading. Since 1976, there have been no New York Football Giants. They're the new Jersey giants, and should so identify themselves.

Haven't you heard?

...according to a super-secret document signed by the then Governors of New York and New Jersey, in 1976, when the Giants moved to the Meadowlands, New Jersey was officially annexed as a part of New York. And just to keep this germane, if Eli Manning's had a third brother who was in transition, would that make this a TG fiction discussion?

P.S. I love Philadelphia Cream Cheese and Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches, and Tony Romo is an Italian-American, so you gotta love the Cowboys too, but not when either team is playing the Giants, aye?

Mom was not very athletic but LOVED her Badgers and Packers

I remember her listening to very game on radio -- WTMJ 620 AM -- in that terrible late 60's early 1970's period where the Badgers didn't win a single game for three and a half years.

And she suffered though the 1950's and late 70s/early 80's Green Bay Packers. Oh 'Drea did I mention the Packers are 15 and 1 this year? -- grin --

Mind you mom liked to cycle, even if it was an old coaster brake Schwinn and it wasn't until puberty hit and I was taller than her 5ft 3' and then some -- I'm 6'2" -- that I could out hike her. Heck as a baby and a preschooler she used to push Ann and me in a stroller 2 and a half miles to her parents house on occasion. And she never drove until she was 40.

Even into her seventies she could carry my disabled older sister up to bed and Ann weighed aprox 90 pounds. Mom was usually 124 and never more than 140 and that was when pregnant.

I have known gals who played rugby and were good at it or as good as a college recreational *league* team could be.

Guys and gals should be allowed, encouraged to be anything they can be. If not for social pressure and her dad's non support my mom would have gone to university on a math scholarship. What a waste of talent. But she made a great mom.

I agree, I want Philly to win when Dallas is better and Dallas to win when Philly is better but in general I want Dallas IE "Americas Team TM" to DIE DIE DIE.

Um nothing personal.

Cricket, that's that game that makes baseball look fast and dynamic? Remember DON'T hit the ball if it red and flashing.

-- See Douglas Addams and HHGG --

I don't like the Yankees much but oddly don't mind near as much if the Giants do well. But then Green Bay did get Vince Lombardy from the Giants. And I will admit to a bias against most *big market* teams. That's why a Kansas City, a Pittsburg, a Green Bay winning is soooo satisfying. And LA should never be allowed to win again in any sport.

P.S. Philly may be the City of Brotherly Love but their sport fans are nasty, even to their own teams!
