Dear Erin

Hope all is well and that the hand is not too bad. Remember, wash it in hot water with soap, use something like neosporin and put a band aide on. Most importantly have someone kiss the booboo for you to make it better ;-0. Maybe all of us here can give you a cyper kiss on the hand xxx ;-).

Hopefully you not a southpaw.

Best wishes

...And you had me thinking you were on about what's left of what we on this side of the pond call "autumn". = (
Please get well soon.

Autumn may be common now but...

Fall and Autumn were both in use, here, in 16th century English. Presumed to be a contraction of the term, Fall of the leaf. The season used to be known as Harvest but with the movement of the population to towns, and cities, Harvest became the word for reaping and both fall and autumn were in common usage here. New settlersto America, from here, took the word fall with them but it fell out of usage, here, as autumn became more common.

Around these parts we call it Locking

By way of GOOGLE, here's something Kurt Vonnegut said about the seasons:

"One ...... thing you might do is to realize that there are six seasons instead of four. The poetry of four seasons is all wrong for this part of the planet, and this may explain why we are so depressed so much of the time. I mean, spring doesn't feel like spring a lot of the time, and November is all wrong for autumn, and so on.

"Here is the truth about the seasons: Spring is May and June. What could be springier than May and June? Summer is July and August. Really hot, right? Autumn is September and October. See the pumpkins? Smell those burning leaves? Next comes the season called Locking. November and December aren't winter. They're Locking. Next comes winter, January and February. Boy! Are they ever cold! What comes next? Not spring. 'Unlocking' comes next. What else could cruel March and only slightly less cruel April be? March and April are not spring. They're Unlocking..."

Ever since I read this I've tended to go by this six season model for our wobbly trip around the sun each year, although somebody needs to come up with better names for our two new seasons than the ones Vonnegut gave them. I also doubt that the heretofore mislabelled seasons had much to do with people's depression. I think ol' Uncle Kurt was just depressed, and had that depressive's tendancy to project, and to try to make universal what was mainly in his own brain, the way some otherwise smart people do. He was obviously depressed because he was secretly transgender.

Hope your hand gets better quick Erin!

Ugh... stitches are never fun...

Last time I had stitches was because I had a razor knife copped an attitude at me. I'm not sure if they told you this or not, but try not to use it as much as possible. Otherwise, you may pop the stitches and either need to get restitched or end up with a rather visible scar.

Erin's boo-boo

I'm sorry. Erin is no longer allowed to walk the dog. She'll have to hire someone else to do it. It's just too dangerous. She could hurt her hands again, and she needs those, to keep this place running.

As a matter of fact, too many other things are dangerous too. We'll have to put Erin (and her computer) in a plastic bubble.

(Take care of yourself and get better...)
