It's down to 55F in the daytime and water falls from the sky every half-hour or so. Some locals think this may be the last days but I've seen this before, it gets worse before it gets better. I think we'll survive. :)
Hugs from Sunny (not so much) California,

Rain and cold
This happens in England all the time. Its called summer. We try not to believe in the end of the world because if we did the Government would tax it.Were having Autumn now,its been sunny. Now I know where it came from, dont tell the Government etc.

Let's face it Malcolm ...
The bloody government already does tax our flippin rain (And in Wales it's even worse than England.)
Rodry Richards, the Welsh comedian has a lovely line in his show where he declares he was eight before he realised he could take his Cagoul off.
How is it our English and Welsh water bills amount to about £400 per annum when Alice Springs in the middle of the Australian desert onl pays about £100 per annum per household.
And we Welsh, despite all the blustering, thundering bible bashing, are quite inured to going to hell. At least we'll get our bloody feet dry.
However, we've no need to worry. Water will soon become the new oil and Jeeze! ... Britain gets enough of the bloody stuff.
When it comes to Rain, Californians haven't got a clue.
That's why the Welsh are such good choristers; they're always 'Singing-in-the-rain.'
Cheer up Erin. A few drops of rain can't harm you it's when they all gather together to become floods that it gets tiresome.
Ho hum.
Bev.

Our Water??
Is owned by the French and Germans so are the power compamies including British Gas and Scottish Power. Gordon the Clown sold the Nuclear power stations To EDF a French Government owned Company. In France the are only allowed to raise their prices by 2.5% and it`s no wonder when the Raise prices by 25&+ in the UK.
The Government is selling part of the Royal Mail of to TNT which happens to be owned BY DHL a German company.
The Uk was sold of Bit by bit by Tony B Liar and his chum Gordon the Clown. I`m surprised this bunch of fools we have in power now haven`t taxed us for living.

Someone once said that,
Someone once said that, sometimes, the only way we British can tell it's summer is the way the rain get a bit warmer.
We'll trade you. We're
We'll trade you.
We're still in a drought situation, and it's in the high 80's.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
That's not so bad.
55f is about 13 deg in English which is Summer for us especially with the added wet stuff, particularly if it's coupled with a bit of wind :) We seem to get warm, dry Springs and Autumns with wet Summers and cold Winters the last few years. Been a bit draughty here recently, though.
Anyway, I thought the end of the world was scheduled for 21st October this year according to Harold Camping over on your side somewhere. Perhaps the righteous have all been raptured and the rest of us are condemned to live in sin - whew, thank goodness for that ;)

Isn't it also
the end of the Mayan or Aztec calendar?
Anyway, unless some other disaster occurs, the world will end when the sun becomes a supernova, white dwarf or whatever, some time in the next few billion years. It shouldn't preclude anyone taking out a library book or starting to read the Bike saga, which is of course infinitely better, so I am told by an indubitable source - that's what you said wasn't it Bonzi?

But I've wondered if that could have been interrupted as a end of age (very violent as it is). To be effective end of life as we know it...

Bloody Soggy PDX
In my memory, 43 F and raining was like totally normal at this time of the year for old Soggy. Today, it is gonna be 50 F, and the Sun is shining brightly, like a blinkin heat wave. Maybe the world is ending?

Drought
Send it over here, we can use it.

water rates
Beverly is right our water rates are out of proportion. In the West we have a high rainfall yet our water rates are £782,£382 above the average.YES they have even taxed the rain.

Erin, tell the people
not to panic. Let them know, it's normal. It's called Autumn or Fall, and is followed by winter. That's when that cold white stuff falls from the sky. (no, it's not frozen auto exhaust). Have them go North and visit for a couple of days. They can then notice that rain is normal, and sunlight can be very appreciated on one of the few days it is visible. Or they could come East and see what all that white stuff looks like when it's piled 6 feet high.
SoCal <=> NorCal
Sounds like a typical NorCal winter. Enjoy it while you have it! We enjoyed the nice weather you sent us over the weekend.
Besides, it'll help fill your reservoirs. =)
Thanks!

It's coming our way
The weather gurus have said your storm will be here tomorrow. Maybe I won't have to water my tomato plants, not that it makes any difference. The weather has been so cool that my early girls took an additional month to ripen enough to eat. It brings a tear to my eye thinking of what we have to put up with to live in the SF bay area. No doubt your rain is the start of the rapture, it is written. My best advice is to ask the nut job across the bay in Oakland if it really is the end of the world. Keep dry, Arecee
I know which I'd choose
As I recall from my 14 years of living there, SoCal has but two seasons: Wet, and Brown with a side-order of Fire. You got an early start on the Wet; that means an early end to the Fire.
Actually
We have four seasons, same as as other places; Fire, Smog, Mudslide and Earthquake.
It's supposed to be a dry winter this year, it being La Nina down south. El Nino brings rain, but hose are just generalities.
Hugs,
Erin

Well maybe
It might be that Sthn preacher guy was off by a few days this time around. Positive thinking and all that. Or maybe not.
