I removed Kristina L S's blog post on the fickleness of mob politics because it touched on a controversial political subject here in the States. It's my feeling that discussion of this issue, sideways to Kristina's point, would be divisive to the community. At least two comment posts seem to bear me out, so in the interest of keeping peace and my own sanity, I removed the blog.

Sorry, Kristina, you had something important to say but the side issue was too hot.

Hugs to all,
Erin

That's sad

I suppose I should have expected a comment that touched on politics, albeit obliquely, to get people 'excited'. I saw one comment which to me caught the point and acknowledged it. Now I get a PM from them apologising for stirring. That comment did not. Whatever else was said and I can probably guess the gist of it, presumptions about my political stance and wider bashing of one side or the other.

You make me sad. I am having a break from commenting at the moment for various reasons, I'll think I'll extend that to other areas. Maybe some day we'll all be worthy of the opportunities we are given. WE can hope I guess.
respectfully? well that works two ways...

ps I understand your action Erin...it's the reason for it that saddens me.

Yah

Well, it wasn't nearly as bad as you might suppose; just some very strong statements that would likely have drawn rebuttals. Rather than leave your blog post up as a lightning rod, I took it down. Sorry.

The two posters were not trying to start anything, I'm fairly certain. Unfortunately, I'm also fairly certain it would have escalated.

Hugs to all,
Erin

Dang it

Why do I keep missing these things? :)

Ahw, I missed the fun too?

I understand Erin having to keep order but don't let that discourage you from commenting Kristina.
