I never thought the day would come when I would be an irascable old person, but today I am one. Hopefully, it'll pass and be flushed.

I have no plans to ever write Meta fiction, but I do enjoy reading some of it. I am just wondering what it would be like to have a person go Meta, with suitably sufficent TG content, and then NOT have mashups with the Federal Government or other manner of the plod? I was thinking that perhaps a young homeless man who was camping in the wilderness, could suddenly wake up to the painful change happening? So then, when sufficently recovered she could begin to address the criminal element and just leave the control freaks out of it?

Maybe she could slip down South of the border and off some of the mass murderers there?

Nope, I am not writing it.

Wolfsbane

When Randall Sinclair had his Metagene activated he was out fishing and hunting in rural Montana. He is male in his normal human form, and female in her wolf-humanoid form. No one but his/her family and friends, and the attendees of his wedding know that he is a metahuman.

staying ahead of the athorities.

eventually, they would have to cross paths with authority in some fashion. Either they would have to cooperate, or be an outlaw. Batman, for example, has been both in his comic-book career. He started as just a vigilante, then with Commissioner Gordan, got tact approval from the police, although he never was totally accepted by most authorities. That relationship has gone back and forth depending on who was writing the comic at the time.

Metas and the Cops

Of course there is the T.V. Hulk that was on the run from Jack McGee. And the local Fuzz.
