And I am back. Just in the door, kettle on and tent laid out to dry. I spent four and a half hours playing in a session last night, preceded by two hours at lunchtime, and similar times for Saturday and Sunday. Not only was the fiddler I largely based a character on there, but I heard that his old collaborator of years past has now come out as transgender, so all threads seemed to be drawn together. I played bodhran for a while with a woman who loved to syncopate, and we ended up having a duet of sorts which was huge fun; I then got asked by one of the audience for a lesson (blush)
My fondest moment was playing last night with an American quartet, just harmonising around their singing, and getting the musicans' accolade: narrowed eyes, a smile and a rapid nod. Lots of dancing, too, with the obvious limitations, and yes, there were baskets, and yes, somebody's feet came up off the ground.
My tent ended up between a couple from Pembrokeshire and a family from Bangor (both Wales for the overseas folk). I am still buzzing, still fingering the tunes, and hungry as a horse.
Bath, laundry, and work tomorrow, dammit....I will start posting the latter chapters once I am sane again.

Welcome Back
We've missed you. Seems like you had a great time—I'm envious in my arthritic antiquity. Feet off the ground, eh? I wonder what caused that?
So back to the grindstone tomorrow—tough. Hope you manage to declare something again soon.
Gabi.
