BANNED!

One person did not believe me that I would take action. They have been banned for forging someone else's name on a post. This is more egregious than simply making snarky comments. I'm debating as to whether the ban is permanent.

I'm very sorry that it came to this.

Ugh.

Doing that just smacks of a level of patheticness. The forging I mean of course.

Unbelievable...

Unbelievable that someone could stoop to that...

Erin - I'm also sorry that things could come to this sort of nonesense. Sad, truly, truly sad.

Kristy

Sorry also but

Stupid is what stupid does. I am sorry there are children here adding to your workload.

So am I, Erin.(Sorry, that is)

[email protected] You've supplied us with a home that we all need for various reasons. I'm absolutely amazed by the fact that someone would so blatantly abuse the opportunity of being a member of this family.

And to me, it is a family. I've only been here a short time, but in that time I've made connections, found support, and possibly even a friend or three.

I hate to think that someone would sully the overwhelmingly positive atmosphere that drew me here in the first place.

Thanks again for your efforts,
With much appreciation and admiration,

Hugs,

Jonelle

some irresponsible person to destroy it.Could I respectfully
suggest, that anyone guilty of this type of thing should
be"Named and shamed".There is just no excuse for it!!!

Well done Erin

people like that do not deserve to have access to a site as wonderful as this,

I hate it when

things come to this but you really did the right thing. And like many of the others here have said. This is a wonderful place for us, thank you for making and keeping it so.

"forging someone else's name"

Without knowing the circumstances I'll give you the benefit of the doubt; BUT . . . I've been forging someone else's name on things for 62 years. I hope I don't get banned from RL.

impetuous. I find the whole thing ironic.

I dunno about...

someone else's name, but I've been signing the name my parents gave me nearly that long... Only once, did I sign "Annette" on a Work e-mail... And, it appears to have not been noticed. . . (I can hope, anyway...) The courts don't recognize me as Annette (or much any variation on that, as yet.)

*sighs*

But, more directly to the topic of the post... I'm saddened that someone would claim to be someone else in their post. While this happened often, in history, it's not generally accepted today. (Heck, there's apparently a large body of evidence that at least one, if not more, of the letters ascribed to St. Paul, in the Bible, may have been written by someone else claiming his name...)

Annette

The truth will out ....

I am the real Angela Rasch. After all these years, after all the soul searching, the sleepless nights!

At last the world knows the truth and the sense of liberation is overwhelming.

misrepresenting

bobbie-c's picture

I've been using an alias ever since I started posting stuff here and in other TG-related sites (although I use the same/similar personal name & second name that I use in real life).

In internet-centric virtual worlds such as BCTS, aliases, avatars and pseudonyms are de rigueur, as well as obfuscating details of what you post, and that's not only accepted, but are necessary to protect one's self. I guess, at the heart of it, what I would have a problem with is if a person deliberately misrepresented himself/herself to be a different person - deliberately impersonating someone else that we know to be a member of the site.

I completely agree with Erin's actions (although my opinion hardly matters heehee). And, although Erin always says to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, one has to wonder at the motivation of such a person to do something deliberate like that, and if it were even possible to actually give him/her the benefit of the doubt.
