Well, I've changed my mind now.

I am going to pursue transitioning to female full time.

I've started talking to my therapists and I'm going to talk to some people about getting on hormones, I'm going to have to see if there are options that low income people have access to with those so I can continue on this journey.

It's frightening, and I'm nervous. Not the least of which is the "ugly TS" phase where the masculine features are going, and the female features haven't quite hit yet. I'm worried that I will be required to get a mannerisms coach (I've heard it is required in some cases) and I just don't have the money to pay for them.

I'm also really worried about paying for the hormones and surgeries.

But, I have a few things to do first. I'm currently 240 lbs at 6' tall, and I have a severe problem with hygiene. That's what my therapist is working on right now with me. I want to lose down to 170lbs, which will be a good middle ground between a heavy female and a very light man. Getting down there will be interesting.

Anyone know a plastic surgeon that is willing to do some work for free like in "Kelly Girl"? I'm even considering making friends with "Doctor 90210" to try to get the prices down. lol

I am proud of myself. I've been going to the YMCA for some time now (two months) and I lost from 265 down to 240. I also am able to run two miles in 18 minutes (which was the standard for a "passing" grade on the PT Tests while I was in the Army). I wasn't able to do that while I was IN the Army and 18 years old, but I can do it now when I'm 42. Cool, huh?

So anyway, that's the news from here. I might have a 3 month contract at $28/hr to do websites for a company, so keep your fingers crossed.

Yay!

I'm proud of you for deciding to start your transition :-) I was like you at first, 5'11'' and 230 lbs. But keep your goal in mind and you'll be surprised what you can accomplish. I melted down to 170 so fast all my coworkers were convinced I was doing drugs :-P

I'm not sure if you'll need a coach; just be more self-conscious. Try to eliminate the mannerisms that you can identify as male, and keep an eye out for how other women are acting. The biggest hurdle might be your voice; nothing short of practicing a lot will help.

Best of luck! ^_^

Maid Joy; You can doit, all have todo is tell yourself that you got to do it! I was at 370 18 months ago and I'm down to 255+/- 10lbs with a goal of 210 to 200 with a 36" Waist, I'm at 40" waist at present. Oh, Also I'm 68 yrs old too! I'm not going to change Genders though. A male 6' at 240 is not bad though, When I went back in the Army in 74 there was a girl from Texas that was the 2nd girl trying to be a Huey CrewChief, She was 6'2"Tall and when I came back from Korea in 77 she was still at Ft. Rucker attached to the Maintenance Training Unit where I was the Unit Training NCO. I was the only guy that could call her by her real 1st Name, everybody else had to call her "Tex". But for her height & weight about 215 she was real cute and had a great personality to go with it. The bigest problem she had was the Army didnot have a weight chart that fitted her and that cause a lot of problems for her. Well best of luck and hope you can doit. Always a friend! Richard
