Back in April I had the chance to spend a week at my friends' condo at the beach. They had planned on going for Spring Break as usual, but something came up and they had to change their plans, so they told me to go and enjoy myself, which I did. Then the Monday after I got back I went out for a jog, and woke up the next day in the hospital.
I was pretty doped up and still hurt all over, which was not surprising since I was told I had been struck by a car. I had multiple fractures to both legs, my right arm was fractured near the wrist and the left a little closer to the elbow, and of course I had a multitude of abrasions and bruises. Fortunately I had no serious internal injuries or head trauma, though I did suffer a concussion and have absolutely no memory of the event. It was a hit and run, and as of this date no one has been arrested. Apparently there were no witnesses to my being struck, and I was extremely fortunate that a neighbor on her way home that evening saw me lying on the side of the road, otherwise I could have been there all night.
I've been checking in here on occasion, and now that I have gotten the casts off my arms I can finally type. The legs are going to take a good bit longer, but I am on the mend and am told my prospects for a complete recovery are excellent. It will be quite some time before I go jogging again, but considering the heat we're experiencing right now I don't think I'll be that broken up over it. At least I should have plenty of time to work on long overdue writing projects.

Welcome Back!
Seriously... WOW, glad you are alive even!
Hoping you have a speedy recovery.
Ouch
I feel your pain. I was hit and run from behind about 12 years ago. The car hit me behind my knees and through me up and over the car we never found out who it was but I can remember a silver oldesmobile like car speeding away leaving me for dead in the snow.
I was lucky in I was just about 400ft down the road from the local gas station.
I still have problems with my knees though.
I hope you get to feel better without any physical damage later on.

Wow
i've been hit myself, fortunately not too badly by a Chevy Suburban and woke up in the hospital also. Had a concussion and badly bruised legs and some internal damage to a kidney but it was fortunately minor and I only passed a little blood.
I am so sorry you were hit, on the other hand maybe us readers might get the silver lining of your writing talents. Take it easy though, it really does take a while to recover.
Take it easy.

Welcome back Scott, we

Glad to hear you are on the mend
Hi Scott. Glad to hear you are on the mend and very sorry you had the trauma of being struck by a car. I dodged one once with the grace of a bull fighter (or was that the bull?) but was able to break out the rear window on the car with a metal pry bar I was carrying from one of my archaeological sites. Lost the pry bar though. The car did not stop either. County mounties weren't interested in pursuing the case since I was not injured and even suggested that if the driver wanted, he could have filed charges on ME for destruction of property or assult with a deadly weapon. Oh Well!

Owie, Owie!!!
I am sorry that this has happened to you. I do hope that you get better very soon.
Gwen
I had no idea that was you.
When we were chatting last night... I had no idea you were one of my favourite authors.
I'm soo happy you are feeling better and can type again *smirk*.
Nobody.
It happened to a friend!
Glad to hear you're on the mend, sorry to hear about the crime.
A buddy has been hit and run twice, in the same neighborhood! It was up near Gwen's part of the world, Hillsboro. He was drunk both times and weaving into the road as he was walking home. I asked him, after the second one, if maybe he knew the guy! He doesn't drink anymore.

It's enough to give you a phobia!
I can claim 4 pretty major me vs a motor vehicle interactions and a bunch of other minor close shaves I don't count. Let's just say biking seems to be a dangerous thing, for me anyway.
Only the once did I wind up as damaged as you have been. I'm glad to hear you're ok and expected to mend completely!
Um, I wouldn't necessarily be all bothered about missing jogging in the summer either.

Glad You're on the Mend
I broke my right leg on a motorcycle when I was in college. It was very painful initially and then difficult and very tiring to get around on crutches for several months. Your injuries are much more extensive; so, I know it's been very difficult for you. I hope your recovery continues to go well.
Battered, but back
I hope you make a full recovery and have no problems with arthritis.

Holy Shit, Batman!
Sorry! I mean Scott. You are unlucky to have been hit like that and more lucky to have survived.
I hope everything sets exactly the way it was before,

Best wishes on your recovery.
Being hit by a car is one of my few fears when I'm out running.

GREAT SCOTT !
To quote, Rocky Horror.
No wonder you have been so quiet of late.
i am so glad you are relatively intact. Mind you *Full recovery* is sometimes doctors slang for, "If you can clean up your own drool most of the time".
PLEASE be more careful in future and assume most drivers are drunken loonetics. And in a Spring Break town? What were you thinking?
We nearly lost you, Scott, And I imagine it wouldn't have been to pleasnt for you if you had died either.
