Story writing as a skill or becoming a Wordsmith

As I interact with the world around me, a difference in the way life is and the stories I read and write becomes evident. I don't seem to attract male males into my life, though I do have a dear gay guy friend. Indeed, almost all of the friends I have here where I live in Portland are College age genetic females, and most of them think of me as sort of a pseudo Mom. So, I hear all their expressions of joy and all their sadnesses, and drama.

One thing I am sure of is that when a woman is in love with a man, she feels it with her whole being, body, soul and mind, and at a depth that I do not think males and most transfolk understand; at least right away. I thought I had expressed that in one of my recent stories and now I realize that I didn't. So, it is being entirely reworked, and I hope that when it is done it is not too soppy and drippy for the readership.

There are other areas where reality differs from what is often written, and no I am not talking about Fantasy stories, but of making the situations, even in Fantasy, seem plausable; even real feeling. While fleeing through the dark forest while being persued by dragons surely is not the place to be describing the flowers and the peaceful stream, LOL Though I have seen movies where a beautiful peaceful scene is dwelt on for a considerable period of time, only to be suddenly shattered by sudden violence and mayhem.

Oh, to be sure, there are writers here, one in particular who does that very well, though I am not naming them. I doubt that I will ever be one of the most popular writers here, and that doesn't bother me. Who knows, maybe some day I shall know enough to teach. Them wut can do, and them wut can't teach, right? :)

I shall stop rambling now. Many blessings to you all.

There's More to the Proverb!

I always learned it as:"Those that can, do. Those that can't, teach. And those that can't teach become principals"!
