Just a quick update and a request?

My wife finally got a firm diagnosis; this after four EKGs, a Stress Test, an ultras-sound and a pulmonary evaluation along with two visits to the ER as well as consults with her GP, her cardiologist, her fibro doctor (thank you God) and her immunologist (In six days). She has been diganosed with Hashimoto's Autonomic Thyroiditis.

They also discovered a nodule on her thyroid during the ultrasound. In most cases, even cancer is usually contained within the thyroid and after a biopsy, the thyroid is removed without incident and prognosis is very good. We're anxious, understandably, but we have our faith and we have excellent doctors. Thanks for your prayers and encouragement and love; we'll keep you posted.

For me, as I mentioned previously, today is a hallmark day. Dougie, as you know my male half, turns fifty-nine today. His sister and co-tenant Andrea turns fifty-three (as far as we can remember her being a part of this life we share, she was born when I was about six, mostly out of not wanting to be a boy rather than wanting to be a girl) and didn't even have a name until one year ago today...Andrea Madgalena DiMaggio. And today, give or take a few days, marks the anniversary of my beginning renewal of a love of writing.

Some folks have asked for presents here on their birthday or special anniversary. I'd like you to consider this as a present, yes? Please think of a few authors you really love and write them a note each of encouragement and support. If you like, tell them what it is about their writing that grabs you, the romance or intrigue or magic or fun? And while you're at it, pick a few you don't read all that much or someone new or someone you've never read and do the same thing, okay?

Oh, and by the way, meet the newest member of the DiMaggio household!

Harley

Even in the worst of times, life can be oh so good. Thanks for caring and your love! Andrea
