This afternoon, I went to my Mother's to give her a signed copy of my book. (Headlights Girl) Despite my sisters disapproval, Mom LOVED her gift, LOVED the pic of me, ( http://files.tgsa.net/Pict0015.JPG ) hugged me, and told me that she loves me, no matter what. Of course, she'd rather have me stay as her son, but she's perfectly willing to accept me as her daughter.

Why Is It That Those Who Are Supposed To Love And Support Us, Don't?

Last night, I called my Mother to tell her that my book had finally arrived and that I would be bringing her a copy, as she had insisted I do, when initially told that I'd even HAVE a book.

Another Endocrinologist Appointment and First Mammogram

So. Yesterday I spent about 6 hours on a rickety, rusting, ready-for-the-junkyard, bus, so I could make my appointment time in Buffalo New York, at the V.A. Hospital. No real problems since I slept most of the way there, although the trip back could be a book in and of itself. *giggle*

Updating My First Endocrinologist Visit

Since my visit, I have found a group called: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TSVets/

They are all TS Service or ex-service members who have either transitioned, are planning on it, or are starting on the path.

There is a lot of info there, but as with any forum, you have to hunt a bit for it. You also HAVE to be either IN the service, or have BEEN in the service to join. This is only my second day on the forum there, but I have already found some good information that is going to help me get what I need from the V.A.

A First Visit To An Endocrinologist

Yesterday, Wednesday, I had my first visit with an endo. She was VERY understanding and helpful, and I ended up with patches instead of pills for my hormone treatments and, for the first time, progesterone, as well. Additionally, I made serious inquiries about an orchiectomy. I was told that the V.A doesn't "do that", but there might be a way around that.

This was at the V.A. hospital in Buffalo, New York, and I have to say that I was treated at ALL times, with respect and understanding, as well as compassion.
