Sigh of relief
Hopefully it's not premature, but I'm a bit more relaxed now with the right turn Ike is supposed to take after landfall. Now looking like Missouri will get all the rain.
Whew!

NOAA says it will move fast
It will come ashore close to midnight tonight and the center of it's remnants will be in southern Illinois by 1PM Sunday.
We got a day and a half of near constant rain from Gustav last week Thursday and Friday here in the Milwaukee area, not again?
Take care, Karen.

I have family between Houston and Galveston so I have an interest in how it is going. I used to live down there, happy I am not. We'll be enjoying the rain and wind in a few days I am sure.
Be safe.
It's leaving Houston and moving on
Don't have much details but it flooded a lot of areas and did serious damage in Galveston, and Houston but it was 600 miles across at landfall. For a storm just shy of a catagory 3 that is huge.
Yesterday as the huricane appraoched a huge wave knocked Geraldo Rivera down, the *coff*, TV journalist. Unfortunatly it sent him back.
John in Wauwatosa were it is raining, but not due to the huricane, so far.
