Sorry for your Loss
I lost Katybug, pictured on the right in my signature picture, in July. Five years ago I had lost Brittany (the one on the left). I had originally planned to wait a month, but while looking at picture from the local Animal Rescue League, I found what looked to be the perfect kitten. She was also being fostered so wasn't subject to kennel cough or any other bugs that get picked up so I got her.
As soon as you are ready, I hope you will be able to get a new pup or kitten. Doesn't make the loss better, but gives you a start in filling that void left behind.
Best Wishes!!
I gave my heart away
I gave my heart away to a little pup I found.
She seemed so very much in need
Of someone to hold her close.
I know someday I'll have to say goodbye
And she'll take my heart with her when she goes.
It will hurt a lot but I know I will survive;
She gave me hers when I gave her mine.
Hugs,
Erin

I'm so sad
It's so hard to lose someone so dear.

Sorry to hear that. That is
Sorry to hear that. That is one of the hardest things to do, I remember when I had to put my Siamese cat, Princess to sleep after 16 years.
Deepest sympathies.
I lost my beloved 'Jax in the field to a puffadder bite.
Kipling said it best:
Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.
