I seem to have struck a note in mentioning that I was thinking of living in my car and camping for a couple months. I was looking at it as more of an extended camping trip away from the city in far North Eastern Oregon. It has been my experience so far that if one can get more than 100 miles or so from the big city, there is just less trouble.
And perhaps I can look at my situation in a more calm manner and maybe the solution is not running away? For reasons that I do not understand there are so many people that want to care for me, and this I do not understand, but am extremely grateful for. And, admittedly my Military Shrink says that I am around 12 years old emotionally, though most of the time impersonate an adult.
OK, NO living in the car. I get that and will try to behave in the future.
I know that some of you live in situations much worse than I and those who do perhaps might just want to give me a whack and tell me to grow up and pull up my pants and stop being a baby!!! I will. And, thank you for the sound advice and care.
The situation here is not actually SOOO bad. Actually, it is pretty good in many ways. Some of you with experience with Mormons, I live in the basement of the Relief Society President, and while that is really safe and secure, some times it feels like living with my parents. For me, the biggest issue is the stairs and no windows. It could be worse.

If it's warm and dry.....
It could be much worse.
Yes, many of us care about you Hon. You have been a good and honest friend to me, and I hope someday I can repay that. I only wish I were closer so that I could help! Of course, on a totally unrelated note, I just spoke with a headhunter who says he has a company in Oregon that is very interested in my background, so who knows? Maybe I will be closer.
In the meantime, camping can be fun, and I too enjoy the solitude - but only as a change of pace, not a living arrangement. I did enough if that in the military, thank you very much! When you start looking forward to getting back onto a ship because of the amenities......
Well, let's just say I never considered a shared stateroom on a destroyer or cruiser to be home away from home. As an attached unit, the berthing usually wasn't exactly first class - even as a fairly senior officer, lol.
I would suggest looking at other alternatives for living space, and maybe a short camping trip just to clear your mind and enjoy some fresh air - but no more than a week! Whether we think so or not, we all need the constant interaction of civilization. Without someone else in our lives, even a neighbor, co-worker, or friend, the loneliness is too much and not healthy.
Hopefully you will be able to improve your lot and move forward with your life, as I am trying to do.
Please stay in touch Hon! I have been remiss on my part with that, but I promise to improve! Melanie keeps telling me I am shutting myself out - and she is right. Pretty smart for a little sister!

Gwen,
I spent many days up in the Colo high country camping either in my tent or in my VW pop top and I never had a moment's trouble. Strikes me that folk out west and out of the cities seem to be more respectful of each other's boundaries. The customized Colt .45 on my hip may have encouraged this but I wore it more for those snakes with no legs. At any rate if you do go for a bit I would suggest sticking to camp sites in the state or national parks. There is almost never any trouble there.Good luck, sister.

On a lighter note
I am very aware of all the good Mormons do in and around the community. My friend Jody took us in when we had no place to go. I have had the pleasure of experiencing many of the Relief Societies meetings which were really enjoyable. But yes it is very much like living with your parents.
Also if you are away from the larger Burg's you can find a safer environment where if you act decently and are clean and spending money in there stores you so get a good measure of respect. In my situation I am planing to purchase a small plot of land up in the foot hills and construct a 14 X 8 cabin we can vacation in, and live in an apartment while the kids are in school. This allows me to establish my self in the community where the cabin is near before full time living there.
