Living on a bouncing mood, Today is the birthday of my oldest daughter she is 11 years old today. My youngest will be 8 on the 14 of October. My step son my girls half brother will be 24 on the 27 of October. All of these People have enriched my life so much that I could never think of what my life would have been like with out them. My step son is an upstanding young man who is putting himself through school and has weathered a lot of stormy life experiences with both his honor and humor intact. In spite of being a generation and one large continent separated, I find our lengthy phone conversations both inspiring and scary beyond all belief. This is because he has independently developed an outlook and understanding of life [At 24 } so very close to my opinion and outlooks [ 58]. It is like he is my own flesh and blood and I raised him myself. He shows wisdom beyond his age. Even his tastes in food are the same. The Christmas I met him I went all out on the Christmas dinner. Collard Greens, Cornbread, Black eyed peas, stiffen, turkey, ham, cranberries, and three deserts. He told my ex his mother that he was afraid of telling me but he thought "I cooked like a Black Women". That was the biggest complement in the world .

My oldest daughter is a real tester of my religion, but a great young women. She has the gift of Gab or blarney depending on your position within the conversation. Her vocabulary would stun a Law collage teacher, and I expect she will soon be taking up reading the dictionary like it had a plot. Two of her favorite words as a child was Yestertoday which was an all purpose word and had to be heard in context to De-cypher it, the second was Mumble bee describing a bumblebee. When I asked her about why that name she told me in all authority " mama cant you hear them talking to them selves as they fly? I cant tell what they are saying but it sounds bad." I have had a lot of fun with that one. I think she might be my writer. One time in Good-Will a women walking past her in the book section inquired what was such a little girl reading such a big book. My child answered in all seriousness, "Oh it is just the complete works of Bill Shakespeare I like the story Much a-do about nothing which is funny, my parents won't let me read the tragedies or histories but there bleakly anyway." The women looked at me asking is that for real, I answered yes it is she started reading them when she was 7. Before leaving the women bought my daughters all of the books they wanted including the Unabridged one of Bill's.

My youngest is a pistol who I refer as my Ballerina / roller derby girl. She lets everyone know just where things are and where you stand. She is my artist and' "I am a super power girl with 101 super powers given to me by Mr Fantastic". She has a sense of humor which can, and does stun you into tears laughing. She has not yet managed the double meaning of the language but has innocently made statements in all seriousness which hit my funny bone to the point I turned blue because of laughing so hard. She can nearly rip her sisters head off one second, then the next blast anyone attacking her. She once took on a bully twice her size using the Mr fantastic comment with so much energy the older sister to the boy warned him that her money was on the little girl.
She is a jem and a heart attack all rolled up in one. Now she is a frilly tom boy who likes dresses and boys toys and I am just allowing her to be her self.

This is why today I am smiling or is it a grimace I sometimes forget.

I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair

That was then this is now.

I know how you feel, being an uncle to many nieces.

Hey if you want more kids

I've got 16 grand kids and a great grand child, I'll rent them very cheaply. Kids are wonderful when you can send them home.
