Sarah McBride says she loves politics and loves her home state of Delaware.
A native of Wilmington, McBride, 21, has been active in Delaware politics since the age of 13 and worked on the 2008 election campaign of Gov. Jack Markell (D). When Markell won the Democratic primary in September 2008, he and his wife Carla invited McBride to introduce the future governor on the stage where he delivered his victory speech.
All of that, McBride points out, unfolded around Tim McBride, the person she informed her fellow students at American University last week that she had officially transitioned from.
An amazing and very lucky young woman!

...her name Sarah is Hebrew for 'princess,' which she certainly is in the nicest sense of the word. It's one thing to come out; something entirely different to come out in such a public manner. I feel like she did that for me in a way; being so open as an example of what good can come and helps to alleviate my fears? And she has a smile that could light up a room. Thanks, Karen. I know this was blogged yesterday from a different source. Thanks to Portia as well. Nice to have good news for a change.

If that was the link posted with no explanatory text, I skipped over it. I don't click on random links, too much of a chance of getting a virus that way. Just like those random emails that sometimes have a friend's return addy on them that say something like "You gotta see this!" Then a day or two later you get an email from the friend saying 'don't open any emails from me, I got hacked!'
Otherwise I just missed it. :-(

Some of the hardest things for T folk to tumble to are: Smile, Smile, Smile even if you are crying inside. It makes your enemies wonder what you are up to. Keep your eyes open, I know of one woman who had her eye lids cropped to make her eyes appear bigger. Be friendly and act like you stole the moon and no one has realised it. Most of the bad stuff that happens to us starts in our own souls. Assume that people are so busy dealing with their own shit that they don't notice yours. Everyone I ever met, gets drawn in by a heart felt "How are you" sung to them. Expect an answer and do your best to heal them.
