I am very sad today as my cat passed away. She was a sweet affectionate cat and I will miss terribly. Celeste rest in peace, I miss you and I was glad that I was able to give you love.

It always hurts to lose a kitty.

We have lost way too many. The latest was a gray tabby named Susie. She used to jump up onto my lap, or sit next to the computer and enjoy her strokies as I typed.

Alas, she started acting dizzy and her head was cocked to the side. The vet said it was probably some kind of poison or a concussion, but it looked like a stroke to me. She started getting better, but she just disappeared one day. We suspect that a coyote got her.

While nobody can take her place, we enjoy and love every cat we have. They help to fill the hole that she left. We currently have four cats, one of which is Susie's daughter.

There are lots of cats euthanased every day at the various shelters. If you take one home, that will be one less to get the 'big sniff,' and one more who gets to be loved.

My niece rescued a big beautiful orange fluffy tomcat. He died of feline leukemia a couple years later, but he was well loved in the mean time.

That's what counts.

Celebrate the love that you and Celeste gave each other, and then pass that gift on to another kitty who would otherwise never know the joy of a long life with her human.

It's been two years

since our cat Zoe passed on to the those rainbow fields. Still every time I see a tuxedo cat, I start to tear. She was my friend more than pet and I still miss her. I have no doubt you know exactly how that feels. Just remember the good times that you shared.

I often wonder when scientists remarks that humans are the only intelligent species on Earth if Cats don't think the same about felines. :)

Big Hugs!

PS: Some years back a dear friend lost her cat too, and I wrote this for her. Others have said it helps. Perhaps it might do the same for you.

Sad today.

To lose any animal companion.

A couple of months ago

when we put one of my two favorite cats to sleep, I decided never again, that I would just stick with the one cat left, ( my 22nd), because I'm getting to the point that any new pets would out-survive me, and someone else would be stuck with the responsibility of deciding what to do.

Then, a few weeks later, I was asked if I could take in the cat of another BCTS author who could not keep it because of allergies. Once again, we are a two cat household, though the new cat still hasn't made up with the previous cat.

But I've always found that replacing an old friend who has crossed the rainbow bridge helps.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

So sorry!

I understand the pain you are feeling. My latest cat died a couple of years ago at the age of 18, and even after all this time I still miss her. Darned furry little critters sure leave a large hole in your heart when they're gone. Thinking about her still causes me to tear up.

Take care. (hugs)

Thanks everybody, I am

Thanks everybody, I am starting to try to remember the good times, it was just so sudden. One day she was fine and the next she was gone.
