I'm passing on a prayer request (or good thoughts, wishes, whatever your tradition is).
`
Holly moved from the San Francisco area to Indianapolis in June. Those of you who know her, know what a loving and caring woman she is. She has been to the doctors, and will be undergoing surgery most probably next week.
`
Holly has pancreatic cancer.
`
Earlier this year, Holly had difficulties. The doctors did a biopsy, and it did not show any cancerous cells.
`
It does now.
`
PLEASE, according to your tradition or beliefs, pray for Holly.
`
She has been such a caring, loving woman who has been the editor for many authors, the refuge for many who had no hope, a willing heart who does whatever she can to help others. She needs your help now.
`
I'll post a note next week when I have more information.
Thank you.
`
Blessings, Beth

I've known Holly for several years
online, and I had the pleasure of meeting her in person at the 2009 Southern Comfort Conference. My prayers, good wishes, crossed fingers and toes and anything else I can think of will be for her well being and recovery.

Sending Thoughts And Prayer Her Way
Sending thoughts, prayers, and hugs her way. I knew she told me she was moving in June. I know that it is one of the toughest cancers to fight, but I know that she has a lot of love surrounding her right now. Thank you for letting us know Beth.
Please pass along my hopes to her
Holly is a wonderful person

I have found out a bit more
My original California doctor got the information, and agrees, that yes, it looks like cancer,
BUT it looks like they caught it very early, so the prognosis should be very good.
It will, however keep me off line for a week, plus or minus a day or so, as my laptop fried a couple of months ago.
In any case, the instructions I got tell me NOT to bring a laptop, etc.
We still do not have a date for the surgery, but it looks like either this coming Tuesday, or Sept 15th.
I'll keep everyone posted.
Indiana University Hospital is rated as one of the two top hospitals in the US for this sort of thing, though if I had still been in California, my doctor there would have sent me to Stanford University, which apparently rates #3.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I hope...
...it turns out to be benign and relatively small / easy to extract, plus you have a speedy recovery afterwards.
Keep positive :)

Oh, Holly, How Could I Have Missed This
You are my mentor, my grammatical conscience. If it hadn't been for you, I probably wouldn't be writing. You gave me the incentive to try to write better, and hopefully your lessons took. Please get well quickly.

Surgery
Holly,
Good luck with your surgery. Cancer is always a worrying word, but these days there is so much better success than there used to be. It is good that you are following the doctors advice ... and I hope you continue to do so.
Take it easy with your recovery

Holly ...
... occasionally IMs me about some interesting topic and we have a cheerful exchange. Most recently it was about Stonehenge just a few days ago. I regard her as one of my on-line friends. She always has something worthwhile to contribute.
I'm not a praying person but I will be thinking of her and hope she gets well soon and the surgery is successful.

Heard of her illness from Holly herself
I held off mentioning it until I was told I could.
What I was told was worrying. But then it is the not knowing, the waiting which is often the most upsetting in medical matters.
That the doctors now say is is early stage cancer, as best as they can tell so far reading between the lines here, is very good news.
NO cancer would be even better but if you must have cancer, detecting and treating it early is lifesaving.
Good luck with the surgery, chemo or whatever else you will need.

Thinking of you Holly
Thinking of you and praying for the best possible outcome.

Thanks for the news.
I've been wonder where Holly was the last couple of weeks. Tell Holly we are all concerned about her and hoping for her speedy recovery; and invoking whatever deities, beings, or spirits we find suitable in aid of her recovery.
