To Bear with Unbearable Sorrow

For many who frequent BC, a goal has been to achieve the unattainable.

We come to BC frustrated. We deem ourselves to have too many male secondary sex traits to succeed in a physical transformation.

For a while we read TG fiction to lose ourselves in a world that somewhat resembles where we ache to be. We closely identify with the protagonist and for a moment . . . know what it would be like to magically cross over.

For many a next step is to try our hand at writing. Some find that they can break down barriers and actually experience whatever they wish by making it so through fiction.

Often authors realize that their readers cheerfully join them in their make-believe, enhancing the experience.

Also many times -- authors blog and comment, declaring their opinions and forming an online persona.

That persona is who we wish to be . . . we’ve made it.

When people unwittingly damage that persona through uncaring remarks we become viciously guarded. And who wouldn’t . . . when one of the most precious things in our lives is placed in jeopardy. We’ve spent a life wishing and hoping and have reached a degree of success . . . and don’t want to lose what we’ve worked so hard to build.

At least that’s how I see it . . . today.
