A few days ago, I sent a word document to a friend to give her a smile and perhaps think about a tour of Portsmouth, where I live.

As all you merry band of followers of EAFOAB or ‘Bike’ or even The Daily Dormouse will know, this is where the story is based.

There is Dickensian London, Bronte Country and even Hardy’s Wessex. But we have a new addition; Cathyland.

Many thanks for Puddintane for all the help and advice in making the following possible, the errors are mine alone.

As a bespoke tour company, we take pride in our unique approach to meeting the needs of our refined clientele.

Within Cathyland we have an exciting and varied range of attractions to meet the most exacting requirements of the traveller.

We take pleasure in presenting a few of the attractions which we can mix and match to meet your individual touring requirements.

If you are staying for longer than a day trip, we can suggest the following hotel.

It is rumoured to be owned by a certain banking family.

However, for those on a limited day only travel and tour we have plenty to see and do.

For the lovers of nature we could start with our own Natural History museum based in Eastern Parade, Southsea.

.This could be the first stop on either a cycle or chauffeured car tour. For those of you who love the natural world this could be the perfect start to the day.

We are lucky to have other museums that are ideal for those who follow some of Cathy’s literary heroes

For example Portsmouth museum in the aptly named Museum Road has the greatest collection of Sherlock Holmes material in the world.
This is the Richard Lancelyn Green Bequest of the Arthur Conan Doyle Collection.

The museum has free entry which is a bonus for those on a fixed budget.

We are also able to arrange a visit to another smaller museum which is actually the birthplace of Charles Dickens.

As we all know Cathy is based at Portsmouth University, however we have to imagine which building this would be.
Is it this?

Perhaps a trip to the spinnaker tower would appeal the views are impressive.

Whatever your shopping needs and desires we can help you find the inner cathy in all of us.

After all that shopping and eating a stroll around the parts of Old Portsmouth would also appeal. The Camber docks, Spice Island etc

Here are some photographs of that area;
