A polite gesture ...
... from Cav this time. He got a slap on the wrist for a rather more explicit finishing salute a few weeks ago. I've never been a huge fan of sprinters (I admire climbers and time triallists more) but Cav is certainly a power to be reckoned with right now. Here's hoping he captures the Maillot Vert in the Tour de France in July.
I've got a soft spot for the 'Island' too having had some great holidays there - for the TT, mostly.

I love you dearly -- and love your new movie -- had date night last night and enjoyed the amazing archery.
However -- when did bicycle racing become trans? How would you feel if I were to post endless comments about the Minnesota Twins, Boston Celtics, or Wisconsin Badgers (basketball) which are my sports heroes?
And -- my dear Robyn -- why are sports names plural?

Bicycle Racing
There are a bunch of stories featuring, or even revolving, around bicycles, just as there are a bunch of stories centred on music and singing, all of which have large fan bases and attract posts which comment on them. There have been admiring posts about football, œcology, magic, the Amana Colonies, the notorious Bentham, still a presence in the halls of University College London, and I just barely avoided mentioning Oneida, had a short discussion of the distinctions between Utilitarianism and German Pietism, and a good time was had by all.
Your own story about baseball, Baseball Annie, was perfectly charming, and it mentioned the Minnesota Twins, and I daresay most of the stories one sees in the world, even here, are about many things, not just a single taking point.
There are stories here which have no "transgender" content at all, and others in which such content is minimal, if present at all, but most are cracking good stories, whatever one wants to say about them. The site rules wisely, I think, allow this.
It's my opinion that ten million "hits" were not generated by a small (and it must be small) group of transgendered individuals, but by a larger group of random citizens with one reason or another to be sympathetic toward or interested in the sorts of personal transformation (and I don't mean mere gender confusion and resolution, since we also see stories featuring persons who are part animal, part alien, part supernatural, part magical being, and many other variations on many themes, not just the one) that many of the stories on the site explore.
Let a thousand flowers bloom.

My thinking for posting this and a few other bicycle events previously is that there is a level of interest here because of Ang's, Maggie's, and other's stories, and bicycle racing isn't well publicized; so, why not remind people/let them know when there is something significant going on that has caught my eye. The blog title is very clear regarding what the subject matter is. It's easy for those that aren't interested to just ignore it.

Plurals
I'm not exactly sure, but I suspect that the mascot, or titulary deity, is viewed as an archetype, of which individual team members must be avatars, so their collectivity spills over onto everything associated with the team. So we see a group of Twins players, but also one Twins player. One Twins, Two Twins, Red Twins, Blue Twins.
So if the Lamoureux Twins joined the Minnesota Twins, they'd be the Twins Twins, and if the Twins Twins went back in time and met themselves, they'd be the Twins Twins Twins, although as representative of their team, they might also be considered the Twins Twins Twins Twins.
Now, some might consider the Twins Twins Twins Twins a silly notion, but these situations come up in Time Travel all the time time time time time time time Time Travel all the time time time time time time time Time Travel all the time time time time time time time Time Travel all the time time time time time time time...

A breath of fresh air...
Many thanks for posting this, cbee. I wasn't aware of the later running of the race and thought I missed hearing any coverage. I recently spent two years in the States under a work visa and as a result, enjoyed all the cycling coverage on Versus. Now that I'm back in Canada, there's nothing. Traditionally, OLN carried the Versus feed of the TdF. Hopefully, they'll do it this year as well.
Oh, well ... at least I can follow it (to a degree), online.
