So...
... a minority employee public servant of East Asian decent decides to propose to her non traditional spouse on New Years using the about face (err...traditional) rule of Valentines Day... on a public Hol while dancing naked in the streets, um does that sound right. This PC'ness is damn hard work and I'm crap at it. BYO sparklers or maybe undies... or was that cherries? The reception aught to be fun and hey it's time and a half or something... talk about a big weekend.

Sounds like the beginning of a plot to me... and if it's to be a TG story, then "about face" could make life interesting, no?

Erin, you have a very twisted mind ...
and I LIKE it.
Bravo for spotting this bit of strangely complimentary holidays.
By the way, what "year of the ..." will it be in China? I'm a cock, um rooster myself.

P.S. Dad's an ox, mom was a tiger, I forget what my late sister Ann was and my other sister, the Evil BlondeTM is, well, a Blonde.

Write the story that you most desperately want to read.
It's the year of the Tiger I believe.

I swear,

Actually...
Within the Chinese Zodiac, each year is ascribed an element as well as an animal, so producing a sixty year cycle. So this year is that of the metal tiger. Element / animal combinations also apply to months, days, and hours (well, two hour time slots), so producing the Four Pillars.
Inevitably, Wikipedia has lots of useful information (much of it also enlightening for reading around the background of Heather's character Chou Lee in Whateley Academy)
Those born this year will apparently turn out to be unpredictable, rebellious, colorful, powerful, passionate, daring, impulsive, vigorous, stimulating, sincere, affectionate, humanitarian and generous. Conversely, they can also be cold, restless, reckless, impatient, quick-tempered, obstinate, ruthless, selfish, aggressive, unpredictable and moody.

A joke
And apparently, they will also be indecisive - as they will pick that many personality traits! ;)

Blondes are not really dumb
John,
I am a blonde, I belong to MENSA. hold a degree in Behavioral Science, love math, and like reasoing and logic, my hobby is law.
Do you remember Carol Wayne? she played the ditzy blonde on TV but really strutted her intelligence on Game shows and talk shows. She died from cancer.
Do you know why brunettes dye their hair blonde? For artificial intelligence. lol

I agree
Blondes are not
blondedumb, but I do like when people poke fun at that. Oh, the scratched word? It is how I originally worded the sentence, I thought you should have a smile today.Of course, some of the best fun is if the person poking fun is frequently changing the color of her hair and lampshading it! ;)
