This is very interesting. On one hand, I feel this information should be publicized somehow, so TS/GID people, well, M2Fs anyway, of all ages have this knowledge. It sounds like it could lessen or stop the effects of a male puberty. OTOH, these herbal estrogens, to be effective, also have to be powerful drugs, just as are mammal or humyn sex hormones. Before I personally recommended these to a young Tgirl, I would feel obliged to know more about side and long term effects. Perhaps this information could be found from native peoples, who have used these as medicines for long periods of time, rather than wait for the FDA or other western/first-world science type entities.

I have not done any checking on the story, however, I notice it appeared two years ago. Someone else must have done further research since then.

Xenoestrogens
Use your preferred search engine (or proxy-protected search engine) to look up xenoestrogens.
Plastics (overwhelmingly those that are recyclable) are putting out estrogen mimicking substances in your food and water. If heated, they release exponentially higher doses of xenoestrogens. Plastic wrap is as much a culprit as PVC pipes or your water jug on the cooler. I used to have a habit of crinkling the plastic of my water bottles. I didn't think much about heating the plastic by crinkling, but I wasn't aware that I was infusing my water with tons of unregulated hormones. I had always thought that plastic was inert, though the smell should have tipped me off.
That's only one term to search. Check the results of your search for others, such as pesticides and animal hormone treatments. The FDA has been bought off by Big Pharma, Oil, and nearly every other industry that has enough money to control who runs the government and its agencies. To refresh your memories, plastics come from oil. There are more plastics in a home today than ever there has been - even in Tupperware's heyday.
Today's children are under chemical siege far more than you or I ever were and it starts from conception. It comes as no surprise to me that boys would react to yet another source of estrogens in plant products like tea tree oil to work in conjunction with the xenoestrogens and animal estrogens that are present everywhere in our daily lives.
Is there something in the water? YES! What can you do about it? There are water condensers and you might use unleaded glass and certainly never microwave anything plastic. Cripes, microwaving food is bad enough on its own. You might also abstain or at least refrain from eating GMO (genetically modified organism) foods.
As with all else in life, it's how you think and act from here, now that you know more than you had before, that matters.
