I wrote the first chapter of Surgeon's Lodger a few years back. I have noticed that someone has put the first chapter on Youtube as an audio story.

What copyright rights do I have?

Do they claim to be the author?

There are a lot of variables. Any action on your part will depend on how much time and effort it you're willing to put in. You could try to reach the powers that be on YouTube. You would have to give up unanimity and then prove to them that you are author and not the poster of the video. A screen shot of your "My Stories" page or your "Author Page" here on BCTS would show the date of creation and the authors name. (pen name)

In the end, a comment in the comment section that the story was ripped off from Big Closet / Top Shelf and giving the URL of the story might be the only thing you could do. It wouldn't do BCTS any harm to be mentioned on a platform as popular as YouTube. Good luck. I hate pagiarism.

I have just created a Leeanna

I have just created a Leeanna YT account. I have emailed the business and asked nicely if they will take it down..
What pisses off is that it is the only long story I have written. I keep meaning to clean it up and sell it on Amazon or similar.

Just checked,

And only one person has acknowledged that the story has been stolen out of 5 reviews.

They alerted me to it being

They alerted me to it being on there.

It becomes a sex story so I doubt if much more will be uploaded.

You should be able to submit a takedown notice/copyright complaint about the material to YouTube. The biggest issue may be proving you are the copyright holder, but too often they don't even verify that someone has the copyright before they take something down. They should be able to take care of it for you.

Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, you can send a letter to whoever is hosting it online and demand they take it down. You can look up the DMCA online to find out how to do this.

Thanks I sent a message to the owner.

You have used my story "The Surgeon's Lodger" without my permission.

Please take it down or I will report it to Youtube as a copyright violation,

Online Ownership

A few years ago I invested over a million dollars in developing a website.

The content grew to be massive, over two and a half million words. We had fairly good traffic but not enough to make it commercially viable. I pulled the plug.

Within about six months someone had stolen the entire website and was using it in their operation.

The internet is still the Wild West.
